Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Guide#
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is Ubisoft’s full remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. It is not old assets upscaled — the game was rebuilt from scratch on the latest version of the Anvil engine: terrain, water, lighting, and vegetation are all redone, and entering large cities no longer triggers a black loading screen.
The story is still the ten-year arc of the Welshman Edward Kenway, from privateer to pirate Assassin. It spans 1715 to 1722, set in Caribbean ports such as Havana, Nassau, and Kingston, with real historical figures among the supporting cast — Blackbeard, Charles Vane, Stede Bonnet, and Mary Read.
The changes land on “feel” rather than “plot”: combat moves from the original’s counter rhythm to an action-oriented block-and-execute chain; stealth no longer desynchronizes the moment you are spotted; naval combat gains a secondary fire mode on each side of the hull; and there are three recruitable officers, an eight-mission endgame chapter called A World Without Gold, plus Animus Rifts that replace the original’s modern-day office segments.

System Requirements (Official Four Tiers)#
Beyond the minimum and recommended tiers, the official specs include High and 4K tiers. All four tiers share the same prerequisites: 16 GB of dual-channel memory, a 65 GB SSD, Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11, and DirectX 12.
| Tier | CPU | GPU | Target |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600 | GTX 1660 6GB / RX 5500 XT 8GB / Arc A580 8GB | 1080p low, 30 fps |
| Recommended | i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 3600 | RTX 3060 12GB / RX 6600 XT 8GB / Arc B580 12GB | 1080p medium, 60 fps |
| High | i5-11600K or Ryzen 5 5600X | RTX 3080 10GB / RX 6800 XT 16GB | 1440p high, 60 fps |
| 4K | i7-12700K or Ryzen 7 5700X3D | RTX 4090 24GB / RX 7900 XTX 24GB | 4K ultra, 60 fps |
Hard drives are flatly ruled out — the official spec lists an SSD as a hard requirement. Installation needs one online activation; after the download completes, the main campaign is fully playable offline.

Getting-Started Essentials#
| # | Point | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Learn the block rhythm first | Taking damage head-on costs far more than in the original — get familiar with the defense bar and unblockable attacks early |
| 2 | Sync viewpoints first | Collectibles and fast travel points only appear on the map after you sync |
| 3 | Fortresses are worth taking early | Besides unlocking the sea region, capturing a fortress unlocks second fire modes for the Jackdaw’s weapons |
| 4 | Don’t fear being spotted | If a tailing target catches you, it just changes the plan — fighting through or rerouting both keep the mission alive |
| 5 | Finish every officer quest line | The Jackdaw ability only arrives at the end of each line — better value than grinding gear alone |
| 6 | Materials come from boarding | Wood and metal are most reliably obtained by dismantling enemy ships during boarding |
| 7 | Don’t discard treasure maps | The plans dug up from treasure maps decide whether the Jackdaw can reach its final upgrade tier |
| 8 | Difficulty is adjustable anytime | The four difficulty categories are independently tunable — no need to restart if you get stuck |
