Title Updates#
Monster Hunter Wilds delivers content through free Title Updates. As of October 2026 the base game has seen four major Title Updates (TU1 through TU4) and four version upgrades (Ver.1.011, Ver.1.021, Ver.1.041, Ver.1.042); the major expansion Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance has been announced and is set for 2027. This page arranges each milestone on a timeline, all per official notices; the monster roster is in the Monster List and endgame play in Endgame Systems.
Launch (February 28, 2025)#
The game launched worldwide on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam simultaneously on February 28, 2025 — the series’ first simultaneous multi-platform release.
| Time | Sales milestone |
|---|---|
| First three days after launch | Sales topped 8 million units, the fastest start in Capcom history |
| Late March 2025 | Cumulative sales passed 10 million units |
Steam’s peak concurrent count reached 1.38 million players the day after launch, the highest for any Capcom title. Post-launch content supply was carried by free Title Updates and Event Quest rotations; milestones below.
First Major Update (TU1, April 4, 2025)#
| Content | Notes |
|---|---|
| Plesioth | Added; unlocked for hunting via an Extra Quest |
| Zoh Shia | Added as a High Rank monster, repeatable |
| Grand Hub | Opened (official English: Grand Hub) |
| Arena Quests | Arena Quests and Challenge Quests went live |
| Armor upgrades | Upgrade limit raised |
| Blossomdance | First festival event, starting April 22, 2025 (official English: Blossomdance) |
During this window, the Arch-tempered system (community shorthand: AT) opened with its first opponent, Rey Dau, on April 29, 2025 via Event Quest. Arch-tempered monsters are the strongest variants released per title update, distinct from the Tempered individuals that appear routinely in the wild; each appearance comes with Gamma (γ) armor. The full rotation of all five Arch-tempered monsters is summarized at the end of this page.

August 2025: Ver.1.021 Endgame Expansion (August 12/13)#
| Content | Notes |
|---|---|
| 9-star difficulty | All existing 8-star Tempered monsters gained 9-star variants, forming a new endgame tier |
| Appraisal Charms | Random-skill decoration slot; a single one can carry both a weapon skill and an armor skill; 9-star quests tie into the system |
| Weapon adjustments | Most weapons buffed except Hammer, Gunlance, and Bow |
FH collab content shipped in the same window. From this point on, 9-star and Appraisal Charms form the core loop of endgame builds; build thinking is in Endgame Systems.

|---|---|

A timeline note worth special attention: the base game’s launch roster contained no Elder Dragon at all — a first among mainline entries; Elder Dragons only began appearing with this update’s Gogmazios, which is also the base game’s only Elder Dragon.
