Achievements and Trophies#
Assassin’s Creed Origins is an open-world action RPG released by Ubisoft on October 27, 2017. Its achievement system spans the Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, and the paid expansions and free updates released after launch kept adding entries to the lists. For that reason, this page does not list achievement names one by one, nor does it provide fixed completion-rate data: specific entries, names, counts, and unlock conditions always defer to the live display on the Steam / PlayStation / Xbox achievement pages.
This approach is intentional. An older version of this page carried a categorized table of “52 achievements” whose entry names and total count did not match what the platforms actually show — a classic case of transcription drift. To take our own verification as an example, Steam showed 49 achievements for this game at that moment (including add-on content entries), a number completely different from the old table — and even that was only a snapshot of the moment we checked. The old table is retired as a whole, and this page spends its space on two things instead: explaining which real game systems the achievement structure revolves around, and giving you verification steps you can follow directly.
Self-Check Steps: Verify Achievement Info in Three Steps#
Step 1: Open the Platform Achievement Page#
| Platform | Where to look | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Steam | In the client, open the game’s store page and scroll down to the “Achievements” section to view every entry and its global unlock rate; in game, bring up the Steam overlay (default shortcut Shift+Tab) to check your personal progress | Global unlock rates tell you which entries are rare |
| PlayStation | On console, open the “Trophy Collection” and select this game, or sign in to your PSN account and view it from your profile on the web | Trophies are graded platinum, gold, silver, and bronze |
| Xbox | From the console guide menu, open “Achievements” and select this game, or sign in with your Microsoft account and view it on the web | The Xbox side displays completion as a percentage |
Step 2: Sort by Category to Find the Gaps#
Every platform achievement page supports sorting by unlock status and unlock rate: switch to “locked” first, then sort by unlock rate from lowest to highest — whatever remains is the list you need to fill in. Every time you finish a region or a stretch of content, refresh the achievement page and compare the increase; that is far more reliable than keeping the ledger in your head.
Step 3: Verify Whether a Claim Is True#
When a guide mentions a mechanic, condition, or reward you have never seen, first check the real thing in the game’s own interface (map statistics, skill tree, quest descriptions), then search the platform achievement page for the entry by keyword, and finally check official announcements to confirm whether it belongs to launch content or a later update. Only something that passes all three steps is worth putting into your completion plan; if any step comes up empty, treat it as unverified for now.
How the Achievement System Is Built: Mechanics Mapping#
The table below lists no specific achievements — it maps game mechanics to the achievement system. The number of entries in each category always defers to the live display on the platform achievement pages.
| Mechanic category | Relation to the achievement system (qualitative) | How to push it |
|---|---|---|
| Main story | Bayek’s revenge journey from Siwa as he hunts down the Order of the Ancients, with fixed beats throughout | Just progress naturally with the main quests; skipping quest story is not recommended |
| Collecting and exploration | Open-world collectibles such as viewpoint syncing, tomb exploration, papyrus puzzles, and stone circles | Do them in passing from the first playthrough — going back for them later costs far more than grabbing them on the way |
| Combat and challenges | Count-based challenges such as arena win streaks, taming mounts and beasts, and archery and assassination skill | They accumulate naturally as you level up and unlock skills; normal play covers most of them |
| Difficulty related | Difficulty can be changed at any time in the options, and the achievement lists bind no entries to a specific difficulty | If you get stuck, lower the difficulty and push on — it does not affect achievement progress |
| Add-on content | Both paid expansions carry their own entries, and limited-time events and updates have added entries too | See the “Paid Expansions and Free Updates” section below |
Story and Main Quest: Bayek’s Oath#
This game’s story begins with Bayek’s oath to avenge his son: following the clues, he pursues his targets from Siwa to Alexandria, Memphis, Faiyum, and beyond, settling accounts with each masked member of the Order of the Ancients one by one. Together with his wife Aya he is drawn into the power games of the Ptolemaic dynasty and Rome, and the story finally leads to the founding of the Hidden Ones, the forerunner of the Brotherhood. Story achievements unlock along the key beats of this main line — finish the game in normal order and you will collect all of them, making this the can’t-miss category. The only thing to watch is not to rush by skipping cutscenes; beats you miss have to be picked up again later.
The table below shows how each stage of the main story relates to achievement progress; which chapter corresponds to which entry always defers to the live display on the platform achievement pages. For chapter-by-chapter detail, see our story walkthrough and quest guide.
| Stage | Areas and content | Meaning for achievement progress |
|---|---|---|
| Prologue | The Siwa oasis, where Bayek swears his oath and the revenge arc opens | Story entries begin unlocking with the flow from here |
| Mid-game | Hunting Order of the Ancients members across Alexandria, Memphis, Faiyum, and elsewhere | The stretch with the densest collectibles — clear them in passing as you push the story |
| Late game | Court intrigue spreads, targets surface one by one, and the final reckoning arrives | Fixed story beats; the corresponding entries come with completion |
| Endgame | The forerunner of the Brotherhood takes shape and the main story closes | Sets the stage for the stories of both paid expansions |
Collecting and Exploration: Tombs, Papyrus, and Stone Circles#
Collectible entries are the most time-consuming slice of this game’s achievement system, and every criterion can be verified in-game:
- Tombs: each tomb contains ancient mechanisms and collectibles such as silica (Silica); once you have banked enough silica, you can unlock a hidden First Civilization-style outfit at a specific ruin. Tombs are also a major source of skill points, so exploring them early pays off the most — for locations, see our tombs guide.
- Papyrus puzzles: collect a papyrus, then follow the verse’s hints to the treasure spot in the corresponding region; solving it opens the cache for XP and resources. The riddle texts run cryptic — if you cannot find the spot, note the region and come back later; for solutions, see our papyrus puzzles page.
- Stone circles: there are 12 stone circles on the map in total. The gameplay is to align the constellations with the stone formation on the ground; completing every stone circle unlocks a follow-up quest chain that delivers the final reward.
- Viewpoints and region discovery: syncing viewpoints reveals the map and marks nearby collectibles; the map menu shows discovered counts per collectible category, so sweeping region by region against those counters is the most effective way to hunt down misses.
- Senu scouting: Bayek’s eagle Senu can hover and scan, marking enemies and collectible spots — the single most efficient tool during the map-clearing stage.
The first source of truth for collection progress is the in-game map’s category statistics together with the live display on the platform achievement pages; this page does not provide a location table for individual collectibles.
Paid Expansions and Free Updates#
| Content | Type | Relation to achievements |
|---|---|---|
| The Hidden Ones | Paid expansion, released January 2018 | Bayek travels far to the Sinai Peninsula to fight Roman forces, the level cap rises to 45, and it carries its own entries |
| The Curse of the Pharaohs | Paid expansion, released March 2018 | Investigate a curse on the pharaohs in Thebes, enter four mythological realms and face four pharaohs, the level cap rises to 55, and it carries its own entries |
| Trials of the Gods | Limited-time event | Rotating boss challenges against Anubis, Sobek, Sekhmet, and other deities; related rewards and entries defer to each event’s terms |
| New Game Plus | Free update | Restart the whole run with levels and gear carried over — an efficient route for mopping up missed entries |
| Discovery Tour | Free update | A combat-free educational tour mode for learning about ancient Egypt; no combat-related entries involved |
Two notes on scope:
- Expansion entries are accounted for separately. The achievements of the two paid expansions appear in separate groups on the platform achievement pages, and you cannot earn those entries without owning the corresponding expansion. Before going for 100%, confirm the group structure on the platform achievement page and then decide your purchase order; for a breakdown of the expansions’ content, see our DLC guide.
- For update content, always defer to official channels — this page lists no version numbers. To learn what the latest patch changed or when a limited-time event rotates, check the announcements section of the Steam store page, the news section of Ubisoft’s official website, or the notifications and update notes in the Ubisoft Connect client — those three places are the first-hand sources of official information.
One more category of paid content sits entirely outside the achievement system: the Helix Store sells cosmetic outfits, mounts, and weapon skins for Helix credits. It is purely cosmetic payment, produces no additional entries, and 100% completion does not depend on any Helix purchase.
The Road to 100%#
| Stage | Focus | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| First playthrough | Push the main story + collect in passing + learn the combat system | Story entries unlock naturally; clear papyrus puzzles, stone circles, and tombs as you go — backtracking later is the costliest option |
| Second run and expansions | Push a New Game Plus save into both paid expansions | The expansion level caps open up gradually and entries come with them — just progress at each expansion’s own pace |
| Cleanup stage | Fill the remaining gaps entry by entry against the platform achievement page | Sort by “locked + low unlock rate”, and use Senu and the map’s category statistics to locate the remaining targets |
Planning advice: do not dive into full collection before you finish the story. First follow the main line to bank every story entry, noting the regions where you missed collectibles along the way; once your level crushes the content, the combat challenges complete themselves on the map-clearing path, and you finish with whatever remains on the achievement page. This route costs the least time overall.
