Early Build Directions#
Origins’ skill tree splits into three branches, but it never locks you into a class — you can unlock any skill at any time. That said, the limited skill points of the early game mean you need a focus.
Warrior Path#

- Adrenaline I — unlocks the Overpower burst
- Overpower I — a powerful finishing move
- Spartan Kick — the go-to skill for knockback and breaking guards
- Charge — closes the distance on enemies fast
- Increased combo damage — raises your sustained damage output
Pros Strong survivability, no reliance on stealth, fast combat pace Cons Riskier against high-level enemies and large groups
Hunter Path#
Best for players who like kiting from range and dealing damage at a safe distance Core skills Aimed Shot, Piercing Arrow, Fire Arrows Recommended weapons Hunter Bow, Predator Bow, Light Bow Skill order
- Aimed Shot — the core of ranged headshots
- Piercing Arrow — one arrow through multiple targets
- Bullet Time — slows your aim while airborne
- Smoke Arrows — creates a window to break off combat
Pros Extremely safe, lets you clear camps from range, and the most efficient option for hunting Cons Weak up close, and arrows need managing
Seer Path#

- Chain Assassination — take out two enemies with a single assassination
- Smoke Screen — slip away unnoticed or set up a kill

Early Game Tips#
1. 5 Things to Do Before Leaving Siwa#
- Finish every side quest in Siwa: stock up on XP and coins
- Synchronize every viewpoint: unlocks fast travel and marks nearby collectibles
- Hunt wildlife: gather hides and materials for upgrading gear slots
- Explore tombs: two tombs sit near Siwa, and they award skill points
- Find every chest: multiple chests are scattered around Siwa, offering early gear and coins
2. Money Management#
- Early coins are limited — prioritize upgrading your weapons over buying new ones
- Dismantling white/green quality gear yields crafting materials
- Blue or higher quality gear you can’t use can be sold for cash
- Hunting is the most reliable income — crocodile and hippo hides in particular sell well
- Completing chariot races pays out a solid amount of coins
3. Earning XP#
| Activity | XP | Efficiency |
|---|---|---|
| Main quests | 500-2000 | High |
| Side quests | 200-800 | High |
| Synchronizing viewpoints | 100-200 | Medium |
| Clearing camps | 50-150 each | Medium |
| Killing enemies | 10-50 | Low |
| Discovering new locations | 50-100 | Medium |
| Collectibles | 20-100 | Low |
4. Gear Management#
Gear in the game comes in four rarity tiers:
| Color | Tier | Description |
|---|---|---|
| White | Common | Basic stats, a stopgap for the early game |
| Blue | Rare | Mid-tier stats, upgradeable |
| Purple | Epic | Good stats with extra effects attached |
| Gold | Legendary | The best stats, plus unique looks and set bonuses |
Early strategy Don’t over-invest in white gear — it gets replaced quickly. Save your coins for upgrading purple and gold pieces.
5. Recommended Upgrade Order#
Gear upgrade slots (upgraded at the blacksmith):
- Hidden Blade — boosts assassination damage so your kills land in one hit
- Breastplate — raises health for more room for error
- Bracers — boosts melee damage
- Quiver — increases arrow capacity
- Tool Pouch — increases tool (dart/bomb) capacity
- Gloves — improves accuracy
Core Systems at a Glance#
Levels and XP#
The character level cap is 40 in the base game. Every level grants 1 skill point. Regions and enemies on the map all show recommended levels, and fights get extremely tough once the gap exceeds 5 levels.
XP multipliers
- Killing an enemy at your own level: 100% XP
Health and Healing#
- Health does not regenerate on its own; you need food or medicine
- Eating food outside of combat restores health slowly
- Synchronizing a viewpoint fully restores your health
The Adrenaline System#
- Dealing damage to enemies in combat builds adrenaline
- When an adrenaline slot fills up, press R3/L3 to unleash a powerful attack
- Overpower can instantly kill regular enemies or deal huge damage to elites
- When you’re surrounded by multiple enemies, the Overpower burst breaks the deadlock
The Senu System#
Senu is your eagle companion, available from the very start of the game. Use Senu to:
- Scout from above: tag every enemy, chest, and collectible in the area
- Track targets: lock onto specific targets during quests
- Find hidden passages: some tomb entrances can only be discovered by Senu
- Spot weaknesses: mark enemy weak points and patrol routes
Tips:
- Summon Senu the moment you enter a new area
- Scouting from high overhead tags enemies more effectively
- Tagged enemies appear on the minimap and HUD
- Senu cannot enter interiors or underground areas
Fast Travel#
Once you synchronize the viewpoints (tall towers/high ground) on the map, fast travel unlocks. Fast travel points appear as icons on the map. Early on, prioritize synchronizing the viewpoints in each region.
FAQ#
A: Prioritize side quests (marked with +), clear the camps in each region, and complete arena challenges. These are all efficient ways to earn XP.
A: Hunt animals and sell the hides, dismantle unneeded high-quality gear for materials to sell, complete chariot races, and loot chests.
A: Synchronize viewpoints to unlock fast travel. You can also ride a mount at full gallop — traveling along roads is faster.
A: There is no gear durability system in this game; all gear lasts indefinitely.
A: There is no way to respec. By the late game, though, you will have enough skill points to unlock every skill (around level 40).
A: Both Simplified and Traditional Chinese are supported for the interface and subtitles.
More FAQ Answers#
Q: Picked the wrong skills or underleveled — what now?
A: No need to worry early on — push the main quest as fast as you can to unlock the lock-opening ability, and use camp merchants to trade in gear. When your gear score falls short mid-game, farm a few high-level fortresses to catch up quickly.
Q: Escort quests fail easily — any tricks?
A: Prioritize upgrading your bow and bomb-type tools. Before an escort, use Senu to scout the enemies along the route and plan detours or ambush spots — that sharply cuts the chance of an interception.
