Assassin’s Creed Origins Weapons Guide#
Weapon Rarity#
Every weapon in the game drops in one of four rarity tiers — Common, Fine, Rare and Legendary. Rarity affects both base stats and perk slots, so a Legendary version of any weapon type is almost always worth tracking down.
Anything below Rare mostly serves as a stepping stone: fine in the early hours, but endgame builds live and die by Legendary perks.
Melee Weapons#
Each melee category below plays very differently — from fast dual blades to sweeping heavy weapons, there is a rhythm for every kind of fight.
Regular Sword#
Strengths: The most balanced weapon in the game for damage versus speed, and it fits every combat situation. Its combos flow smoothly, making it the best first pick for new players.

Bows#
The bow line splits into four families, each built around a different job — from silent long-range sniping to close-quarters crowd control.
Hunter Bow#
Strengths: The most practical bow in the game — high damage for precise mid-range shooting. Arrows drop noticeably over distance.
| Stat | Rating |
|---|---|
| Damage | High (★★★★) |
| Fire Rate | Medium (★★★) |
| Range | Medium-Long (★★★) |
| Accuracy | High (★★★★) |
Recommended Legendary Hunter Bows:
Best used for: stealth sniping and clearing out enemy camps.
Predator Bow#
Strengths: Lets you steer the arrow in flight and hit enemies from angles that should be impossible. Headshot damage is enormous.
| Stat | Rating |
|---|---|
| Damage | Very High (★★★★★) |
| Fire Rate | Very Slow (★) |
| Range | Very Long (★★★★★) |

| Accuracy | Medium (★★★) |
Recommended Legendary Light Bows:
Best used for: quickly stacking poison or fire, and finishing off wounded enemies up close.
Warrior Bow#
Strengths: Fires several arrows at once across a wide spread. The drawback is that damage against a single target gets diluted.
| Stat | Rating |
|---|---|
| Damage | Medium (★★★) (per arrow) |
| Fire Rate | Slow (★★) |
| Range | Medium (★★★) |
| Special | Arrow spread |
Recommended Legendary Warrior Bows:
Best used for: group fights and dense enemy formations.
Weapon Stats Explained#
The ratings above cover the five stats that matter most: damage, speed or fire rate, range, accuracy, and whatever special trait a weapon carries.
Two weapons of the same type can feel very different in practice, so always compare the full stat block — and the perks — before you sink upgrade materials into one.

Best Weapon Pairings#
Stealth Build#
Run a Hunter Bow or Predator Bow as your primary for long-range assassinations, and carry a Regular Sword as backup for sudden close encounters. Prioritize crit chance and assassination damage perks — combined with the stealth skill line, you can wipe out an entire camp without ever being spotted.
Warrior Build#
Go with Heavy Weapons or a Sickle Sword as your primary and lean on wide sweeping attacks to pressure several enemies at once. Stack attack and health perks, and with the Rage ability you can hold your own in one-versus-many fights.
Hunter Build#
- Primary: Hunter Bow (main damage) + Predator Bow (specialty shots) — strike first from range
- Secondary: Regular Sword, for a quick swap once enemies close the distance
Balanced Build#
Cover both melee and ranged combat: pick a Sickle Sword as your primary to keep melee damage consistent, and pair it with a Light Bow secondary for mobile firepower. Split perks between attack and crit for a safe, reliable setup that works in most situations.
Weapon Upgrades and Materials#
| Upgrade | Materials Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Weapon level up | Carbon Crystal, Iron, Bronze | Raises base attack and the level cap |
| Engraving upgrade | Carbon Crystal | Strengthens an existing engraving |
| Rarity upgrade | Specific forging materials | Promotes a Rare weapon to Epic/Legendary |
How to Choose Weapon Perks#
- Match your main build first: stealth builds stack crit and assassination damage, warrior builds go for attack and health, hunter builds boost ranged damage.
- Focus on Legendary weapons in the late game: they come with two engraving slots and far more room to grow.
- Break down weapons you don’t use: surplus gear can be dismantled at the blacksmith to recover Carbon Crystal and other upgrade materials.
