Meals & Ingredients#

Meals & Ingredients

Meals provide the core in-quest buffs: health and stamina caps, attack and defense boosts, plus random food skills. Dining spots in this game are denser and faster to use, but the old tradition of “planning before the meal” still holds.

Dining Options#

Option Scenario
Base Canteen Eat before the quest; most complete buffs
Pop-up Camp Mid-quest refuel; drop into any camp for a meal anytime
Seikret snack on the move Eat while traveling to hold the stamina line
Grand Gathering Hub Added in the April 2025 first major update, located in Suja, with a dedicated dining area and festival menus

The Base Canteen and Pop-up Camp give identical buffs; the only difference is timing: the former covers the quest opening, the latter handles mid-quest refills. The Grand Gathering Hub is the social venue added with the update, functionally aligned with the Base Canteen — details in the dedicated section below.

Ingredients and Food Skills#

Food skill output works on two layers:

  • Ingredients set the skill direction. Different ingredient combinations lead to different skill pools — to land a certain category of skill, build your ingredients toward it.
  • Freshness shapes the trigger result. The same ingredient combination triggers more reliably the fresher it is; stale ingredients risk skills whiffing entirely.

Each day’s ingredient lineup is decided by field gathering, base supplies and trade rotations, and glancing at today’s ingredients before departure is veteran muscle memory. The day’s actual ingredients and available skills follow the in-game canteen menu — this page covers direction, not menu listings; whatever new dishes the game adds, go by what the menu actually refreshes.

Ingredient Freshness#

Freshness Skill trigger tendency
Fresh Most consistent trigger results
Average Mediocre trigger odds
Stale Risk of skills failing rises sharply

Keeping freshness comes down to restocking at base regularly and favoring same-day ingredients. Ingredients rotate with field gathering and trade, so long-term hunters develop their own “prep route” — a loop past gathering points before a quest beats skills whiffing mid-quest.

Buff Planning#

Quest type Meal direction
High-difficulty hunts Attack buffs as the base, then survival-leaning skills
Speed farming Attack and stamina skills first, compressing per-run time
Gathering & exploration Movement- and gathering-leaning skills; just enough buffs
Group quests Patch your own gaps by role; don’t expect dinner to save teammates

The planning principle is “order to your gaps”: whatever your build lacks, eat toward it. Food skills occupy no armor slots or decoration sockets — effectively a free extra skill line — but they carry randomness, so never stake your build’s closure on one specific food skill.

Multiplayer Dining#

Point Details
Skills are individual Every teammate’s food skills work only for themselves, never shared
Everyone dines separately Eating in a group is a personal action; whoever eats, benefits
Build variable Never assume a teammate has a given food skill; key synergies come from builds, not meals

The most common multiplayer misconception is that “eating together means shared buffs.” In reality food skills apply only to the eater, and each person’s skill pool depends on their own ingredients and freshness. Treat “food skills vary per person” as a real variable when planning group builds: your survival skill cannot save a teammate who skipped dinner, and nobody covers your output gap either.

Small Cooking Systems#

Item Details
Well-done Steak Grilled yourself mid-quest; restores stamina

FAQ#

Question Answer
Are food skills random The pool is set by ingredients, the exact roll is random, and freshness shapes the trigger
How long do meal buffs last Active for the quest, gone when you cart — refill at a camp
Is eating every meal wasteful No; buffs don’t stack, repeat meals just refresh coverage
Does the Grand Gathering Hub have special meals Yes — the April 2025 update added the dining area and festival menus

Pairing Base and Field Dining#

Flow Details
Before the quest Full Base Canteen buffs
Mid-quest Pop-up Camp refills the moment buffs lapse
Long quests Light Seikret snacks to hold the stamina line
During festivals Grand Gathering Hub festival menus, style and buffs both

Meal buffs lapse when you cart, so long Arch-tempered (community nickname: “AT”) hunts often need several mid-quest refills — burn “eat first, then rescue” into muscle memory and your team’s effective fault tolerance jumps a tier.

Grand Gathering Hub Dining Area#

Item Details
Availability April 2025 first major update, opened alongside Suja
Dining area A dedicated dining venue, functionally aligned with the Base Canteen
Festival menus Limited meals during the Festival of Accord

The Hub’s dining area turns “dinner” into a social ritual: eating together at the Hub before a grouped hunt is one of the most beloved details of this game’s multiplayer loop. Functionally identical to the Base Canteen — emotionally, completely different.

Three Ingredient Management Habits#

Habit Practice
Restock day Refresh ingredients after each version update
Gather as you pass Grab honey and vegetable points in passing
Festival windows Restock supplies when festival menus go live

The ingredient system has no fail state — the worst case is only unstable skill triggers. The three-habit routine costs almost nothing and pays back in steady skill coverage every quest. The dining line follows the same logic as the whole ecosystem: small continuous investment, large continuous return.
