World Setting Summary#
Nine Realms Map Details and Collectible Spots#
Midgard key locations#
Midgard centers on the Lake of the Nine, with regions radiating outward. Light up the traversal points on both lake shores early, then push forward near Thor’s statue. Collectibles here are concentrated in caves and abandoned buildings along the frozen lake shore; most require late-game abilities to complete.
Alfheim key locations#
Alfheim splits into the Barrens and the temple regions. The Light Temple’s interior is layered, with many chests hidden in mezzanines that require pushing and pulling platforms. In the Dark Elf nest area, watch for ravens overhead — they often perch on beam tops and must be knocked down precisely with thrown weapons.
Svartalfheim key locations#
The Dwarven realm’s core mechanic is adjusting sluice gates to change water levels. Water level changes open new waterways and caves, a prerequisite for unlocking several Legendary Chests. The Forge area has the most traversal points; treat it as your relay hub and fan out to explore the surrounding mines.
Vanaheim key locations#
Vanaheim is the largest region of the Nine Realms, split into plains, jungle, and volcanic terrain. Jungle routes are complex and often blocked by vines and fire walls; you need the Blades of Chaos and the spear working together to explore them fully. Collectibles here are the most numerous in the game, and it is also the most efficient place to farm silver.
Muspelheim and Niflheim#
These two regions open after the credits and are designed purely for endgame challenges. Muspelheim’s trial arenas ring the central crater with tight combat pacing; Niflheim is shrouded in mist, and the rift trials call for resistance gear prepared in advance.
Helheim key locations#
Helheim is the realm of the dead, themed on ice and departed souls. Only part of it is visitable during the main story; return after the credits to complete your collection. Ravens and chests cluster along cliff edges — watch your footing while exploring.
Collectible quick reference#
| Area | Priority collectible | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Midgard lake shore | Idunn Apples | Requires a late-game freeze ability to unseal |
| Alfheim temple | Legendary Chests | Mostly platform puzzles |
| Svartalfheim mine tunnels | Horns of Blood Mead | Unlocked via water level changes |
| Vanaheim jungle | Odin’s Ravens | Numerous and well hidden |
| Muspelheim cliffs | Legendary Chests | Open after trials |
| Niflheim mist fields | Mist items | Dropped by rift trials |
Exploration tool tips#
- The Blades of Chaos’ chain throw is the core tool for crossing large chasms; when you see a drop, look for an anchor point first.
- The Draupnir Spear’s explosions can blast open golden fissures, which usually hide chests behind them.
- Atreus’ light arrows light up dark areas and reveal hidden mechanisms; keep the bow drawn in dim scenes.
