Pawn System#
The core feature of Dragon’s Dogma — you have one dedicated main pawn + can hire 2 pawns from other players
Main Pawn#
- Fully customizable: appearance, vocation, skills, inclination
- Never truly gone: can always be revived
- Rentable by others: other players can hire your main pawn at riftstones — you earn Rift Crystals

Practical Tips#
- Gather everything: herbs, ore, fruit — alchemy and cooking both need them
- Save often: resting at an inn saves your game — camping in the field saves too
- Upgrade gear first: upgrading at the blacksmith beats buying new — Wyrmslife Crystals are the upgrade material
- Pawns can betray you: in certain quests pawns may turn on you — read quest descriptions
- Stealing: press the interact button behind an NPC to steal — getting caught lowers affinity
- Skill slots are limited: each vocation has only 4 skill slots — choose carefully
- Weight affects speed: over-encumbered means slower movement and doubled stamina costs
- Pawn commands: the “Help” command calls pawns to heal you
