Extraction Points and the Loot-Fight-Extract Flow#
Extract shooters have a saying: “What you touch doesn’t count; what you carry out counts.” Extraction points are that saying made into rules. Using Zero Dam as the main sample, this page explains every extraction point type, trigger condition, and usage strategy in Delta Force, and covers the S11 season’s extraction rule changes.
The Five Extraction Point Types#
| Type | Rule | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Regular extraction point | Stand for 10 seconds to extract | Fixed open points on every map |
| Conditional extraction point | Usable only when a condition is met | Maintenance Tunnel requires dropping your backpack; Dam Crest requires carry weight under 50 / 30 kg |
| Random extraction point | Opens on Normal difficulty only | Position randomized each raid |
| Switch extraction point | Pull a designated breaker and wait out a 3-minute countdown | Admin Building / main substation switches |
| Paid extraction point | Pay Havoc coins to extract instantly | 10,000 Normal / 40,000 Confidential; closes once 4 players have paid |
Five details worth expanding:
- The 10-second stand makes extraction points the most dangerous spots on the map — nearby enemies are probably waiting for the same window; observe before entering.
- Conditional points are “weight-loss rooms”: the Maintenance Tunnel makes you drop your backpack; the Dam Crest checks carry weight (50 / 30 kg tiers) — in essence, “trade loot for the right to extract”. If you are over the weight limit, dump low-quality items first, then run for the point.
- Random points appear on Normal difficulty only — the most beginner-friendly design in Normal lobbies: route uncertainty sharply cuts the payoff of spawn-camping ambushes.
- Switch points carry a 3-minute countdown; pulling the switch broadcasts your intent to the whole map, and the countdown window is the peak “ambush and wait” period.
- Paid points close once 4 players pay: a full squad cannot all share one paid point — after the fourth player pays, the point closes and the fifth player must find another exit.
Now view the five types through the map pool: Zero Dam and Longbow Valley run Normal / Confidential; Brakkish and Space Base run Confidential / Top Secret; Tidal Prison and AZ3 are also in the regular rotation pool. Random points opening on Normal only means the higher the difficulty, the fewer “free and random” exits — Confidential and Top Secret extraction plans must be laid earlier, covering conditional, switch, and paid points. Per-map point details appear in the quick tables below.
The Extraction Timetable: Four Timings to Memorize#
Extraction duels run on a set of timers. Memorize the numbers first, tactics second:
| Timing | Scenario | Practical Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 10 seconds | Standing at a regular extraction point | The most dangerous stationary window on the map; clear the area before entering |
| 3 minutes | Countdown after pulling the switch (Admin Building / main substation) | Pulling the switch is a broadcast; both sides share the same countdown information |
| 1 minute + 3 minutes | S11 Longbow Valley train: door opens 1 minute after the switch, then wait 3 more | “Waiting for the door” and “waiting aboard” are two different exposure periods |
| About 4 minutes | Holding a Mandel Brick at the decryption station | Hands-on brick time outlasts the switch countdown — the loudest action on the map |
The interplay between timers deserves the most attention: decrypting one brick takes about 4 minutes, longer than the switch’s 3-minute countdown — so a brick-carrying team’s extraction window is inherently narrower than a normal team’s. Plan the route around “4 minutes of decryption + travel time to the point” instead of choosing an exit after decrypting. New players in Normal Zero Dam can wargame with these timings: check the random point location on deploy and treat “walk time to the nearest regular point” as route cost — see Beginner Guide and Getting Started for the overall starting path.
The Cost Ledger of Paid Extraction#
| Difficulty | Cost | When to Use |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | 10,000 Havoc coins | Buy without hesitation when your carry clearly exceeds 10,000 and you are being chased |
| Confidential | 40,000 Havoc coins | Full Confidential bags are often worth hundreds of thousands; 40,000 is cheap insurance |
Paid extraction is, at its core, “buying certainty with Havoc coins”. The decision formula is simple: expected bag value > extraction fee + expected loss from being intercepted → buy. With empty or thin bags, don’t waste money; conditional and random points are enough.
It reads even more clearly as a share of gear thresholds. Entry gear requirements by difficulty against known paid extraction fees:
| Difficulty / Map | Entry Gear Threshold | Known Paid Extraction Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Confidential · Zero Dam / Longbow Valley | 112,500 Havoc coins | 40,000 Havoc coins (about 1/3 of the threshold) |
| Confidential · Brakkish | 187,500 Havoc coins | 40,000 Havoc coins (about 1/5 of the threshold) |
| Top Secret · Brakkish | 550,000 Havoc coins | No public figure; follow in-game values |
| Top Secret · Space Base | 600,000 Havoc coins | No public figure; follow in-game values |
Read the two ledgers together: a Confidential extraction fee of 40,000 is about one third of the entry threshold — cheap, direct insurance for a player with a full bag. Havoc coins in Operations are both the base in-raid currency and the Auction House settlement currency, so every coin spent on extraction hedges the risk of dying and dropping everything. One often-missed roster rule: Operations squads max at 3, so a full squad pays the full fee and everyone extracts through the same paid point, with one slot to spare — the “closes at 4 payments” rule really governs the situation of multiple teams sharing one point; slots are first come, first served. This expense mirrors the income view in Loot and Stash and the settlement view in Economy and the Auction House.
S11 Season Extraction Rule Changes#
S11 “Stars” (launched September 4, 2026) adjusted two extraction mechanics:
| Map | Change |
|---|---|
| Longbow Valley | Train extraction changed to door opens 1 minute after the switch, then wait 3 more — an explicit “boarding window” beyond the old instant-open, and a clearer information rhythm for interceptors |
| Space Base | Added random switch points and adjusted extraction mechanics — switch locations are no longer fixed, cutting the payoff of camp-and-wait play |
These two changes shipped in the same batch as Longbow Valley 2.0’s connected waterways and the removal of radar-jamming zones; the overall direction is compressing pure camp-and-extract play and encouraging whole-map movement. Players used to holding old spots need to relearn the rhythm.
Body Condition and the Extraction Window#
The extraction point’s 10 seconds are stationary time, and your body condition decides whether you can use them well. Operations’ health system runs 100 HP across seven damageable parts (head / chest / abdomen / both arms / both legs); damage to different parts affects vision, hearing, and movement speed respectively. Bleeding wounds need a tourniquet or med kit; fractures need a surgical kit — a broken leg means no sprinting at all, and a broken arm makes recoil control hard. Charging a point on a broken leg turns the 10-second window into a trap question; using up your surgical kit before entering is baseline practice. Buff stims come in carry-weight, hearing, stamina, max-stamina, and other types; how the Dam Crest weight lines (50 / 30 kg tiers) pair with weight stims, and the exact values of all medications, follow in-game data — see Hazards and Status Mechanics for the full abnormal-status treatment.
Some Operator skills directly rewrite the extraction window’s margin for error:
| Operator | Skill (official description) | Meaning for Extraction |
|---|---|---|
| Butterfly | Butterfly rescue drone: auto-revives allies within 55 meters and intercepts one explosive | Getting downed at the extraction point’s edge still ends in an auto-revive — 55 meters is the insurance radius for “the last meter” |
| Gale | Emergency evasion device: pulls you back to an anchor; self-rescue from lethal damage | Set an anchor before entering the point — an extra fallback after being knocked down |
| Stinger | Professional rescue: in Operations, removes max-HP reduction debuffs | Repair the clipped health bar before entering rather than stepping into the 10-second window short-handed |
| Voyager | Survival expert & emergency service: clears status effects and restocks ammo while reviving | A new S11 Support Operator, compressing pre-extraction preparation to a minimum |
Full skill descriptions appear on the Support Operators and Assault Operators pages. The common thread: none of them changes the extraction rules themselves; they change how intact you arrive at the extraction point — and intactness is exactly what decides whether you dare stand still inside the 10-second window.
The Extraction Decision Flow#
A standard raid’s extraction decisions can run like this:
- Set the plan on deploy: check the extraction point layout at spawn; mark a primary and a backup point (at least two routes).
- Re-evaluate midway: the fuller the bag and worse the wounds, the more you should favor high-certainty exits (regular or paid points); with a light bag and good condition, you can detour through conditional points to save money.
- Clear the area before entering: listen for footsteps, check whether terrain offers an angle to hold a gun; no more looting inside the 10-second window.
- Manage the countdown: the 3 minutes after pulling a switch are the high-risk period; choose a covered overwatch spot rather than standing around waiting. For train points under S11 rules, budget the full “1 minute to open + 3 minutes waiting” span.
- Split full squads: paid points cap at 4 payers; when over capacity, split routes early so the whole squad isn’t wiped at one point.
Two special cases deserve separate mention. First, night raids: Zero Dam’s night mode is permanent darkness, and the Admin Building is both the switch location and the spawn point of Guard Commander “Sayed”, who may carry an M250 or QJB201 in night raids — switch routes naturally overlap boss patrol zones, so confirm who holds the building before pulling. Second, random events: for example, after the dam’s main gate is blown open, the vault door stands open while the safe still needs contract cracking — player traffic and bag loads reshuffle instantly with events; factor that into mid-raid route re-evaluations.
Secure Container Fallback and the Mandel Brick Gamble#
“What you carry out counts” has one major exception and one major counterexample. The exception is the Secure Container (nicknamed the “crotch box”): its contents survive failed extractions, in four sizes — 1×2 / 2×2 / 2×3 / 3×3. The advanced container comes with purchasing the Season Pass; the top-tier container’s seasonal access is earned by completing season missions — it sets your floor. The counterexample is the Mandel Brick: the game’s most coveted loot cannot go into the Secure Container; weapon attachments, the Gheeros Judgment Card, and in-raid stims are also on the banned list — your most valuable assets have no safety net at all, and extraction success is everything. For stash and case management overall, see Loot and Stash.
The brick’s rules amplify the risk further: it spawns dynamically in raids (icon on the minimap), must be escorted to a decryption station and held for about 4 minutes to decrypt, teammates can duplicate extra bricks, and after extraction you scan it with a Quantum Key for a random weapon skin or sell it directly on the Auction House. Competitive play goes further — the Operations Cup uses “match-point brick”: first to decrypt and extract 2 Mandel Bricks within up to 6 rounds wins outright, and the first brick is match point. From the casual player’s “Brick Factory Boss” trophy (successfully extracting one Mandel Brick) to the winning point on the professional stage, every rule lands on the same action: escort the brick across the extraction line. For Season Pass output logic, see Season Pass; for the professional format, see Esports Viewing Guide.
Extraction Points by Map#
Point layouts differ greatly across maps; each map page in this section has full tables:
| Map | Extraction Highlights | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Zero Dam | Maintenance Tunnel (drop backpack), Dam Crest (50 / 30 kg weight), Admin Building and main substation switch points | Zero Dam |
| Longbow Valley | S11 train extraction rules, waterway passages | Longbow Valley 2.0 |
| Brakkish | Helipad extraction (unlocked via the doctor-escort “Guardian” contract) | Brakkish |
| Space Base | S11 random switch points, rocket extraction during launch windows (“Ascension”) | Space Base |
| Tidal Prison / AZ3 | See per-point notes on the map page | Tidal Prison and AZ3 |
Choosing Between Extraction Point Types#
Faced with several extraction points in the same raid, the decision logic condenses to one table:
| Your State | Preferred Point | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Full bag + healthy | Regular or paid point | Highest certainty; leave fast, don’t loiter |
| Full bag but chased | Paid point | Buy instant extraction with Havoc coins; don’t gamble on conditional points |
| Light bag, healthy | Conditional point | Trade a dropped backpack or weight control for a free exit while clearing the bag |
| New account on Normal | Random extraction point | Randomized positions mean the lowest camp risk |
| Team split up | Nearest regular point for each | Paid points cap at 4; don’t crowd everyone into one |
| Near a switch point, no enemies in sight | Switch point | After pulling, immediately find a covered overwatch spot |
Contracts Tied to Extraction#
Some extraction points are “bound” into benchmark contracts: Brakkish’s “Guardian” requires escorting the doctor to unlock the helipad extraction; Space Base’s “Ascension” requires hacking the rocket and extracting during a launch window. Such contract extraction points are unusable until unlocked — special exits of the “finish the mission to get the road” kind. For the full contract list, see Bosses and Contracts.
Summary and Practice Route#
- Five extraction point types = five combinations of risk and cost; there is no “best answer”, only “best for this raid”.
- 10 seconds, 3 minutes, and 10,000 / 40,000 Havoc coins are three numbers you must memorize.
- S11’s two changes (Longbow Valley train, Space Base switches) changed the cost-effectiveness of camping.
- Extraction is the only settling action in loot-fight-extract; every “one more room” of greed is paid for with the extraction window.
- The 100 HP, seven-part health system decides whether you can use those 10 seconds; the Secure Container sets your floor, and the Mandel Brick has no safety net at all.
- From the “Brick Factory Boss” trophy to match-point brick at the Operations Cup, winning rests on the same action: carrying the brick across the extraction line.
Practice route suggestion: build the “random extraction point + regular 10 seconds” muscle memory in Normal Zero Dam first; practice paid-point cost judgment in Confidential raids; save switch points and train points for later, once you know the whole map’s rhythms.
