Space Base Map Guide#

Space Base Map Guide

Space Base is the ceiling of entry gear requirements in Operations: the Top Secret difficulty entry loadout requirement is no less than 600,000 Hafcoins, a full tier above Brakkish Top Secret’s 550,000. It is also the most mechanics-dense map in the game — a fixed 5 large safes (plus 2 more on Top Secret) and 4 hacking computers, dual contracts, the rocket crash event, and the Season 11 random breaker point rework.

Basic Info#

Item Details
Difficulty tiers Confidential / Top Secret
Top Secret gear threshold No less than 600,000 Hafcoins
Boss Security Director Demoulin (escorted by two automated combat vehicles)
Fixed containers 5 large safes (plus 2 on Top Secret) + 4 hacking computers
Signature contracts Operation Ascension / Operation Fireworks
Random event Rocket crash
Season 11 changes New random breaker points, adjusted extraction mechanics

Fixed High-Value Containers#

Container Count Notes
Large safe 5 (Top Secret +2) Fixed across the map, five-digit code decryption
Hacking computer 4 Three-digit codes (dot = 1-5, dash = 6-0)

A layout of 9 to 11 fixed large safes is the highest density on the map — the direct payoff of the 600,000 threshold: no other container income in the game is this guaranteed. The code decryption rules are identical to Zero Dam.

Boss: Security Director Demoulin#

  • Combo mechanic: Demoulin brings two automated combat vehicles — the only “human-machine formation” among the five bosses.
  • How to fight him: the vehicles are a major threat in open ground, so try to drag the fight into buildings and cover areas and split the boss from his vehicles. Engineer cover skills (Uluru’s quick-set barricade) and sonic suppression (Shepherd) work wonders here.
  • Season 11 tie-in: the “Play as Demoulin” boss mode lets players step into this boss’s shoes with exclusive passages and extraction points — see Arena and casual modes.

Signature Contracts: The Two Rocket Lines#

Contract Flow Key mechanic
Operation Ascension Hack the rocket, extract during the launch window Extraction time is dictated by the launch window, strictly timed
Operation Fireworks Destroy the rocket with a missile The sabotage line, a mirror of Ascension

“Operation Ascension” is the most cinematic extraction in the game: hack the rocket, then leave during the launch window. It sits in a different system from the 10-second hold at regular extraction points or the 3-minute countdown at breaker points — the rocket window is a map-level event clock, and missing it means failure. Taking this contract means handing the pacing of your entire raid to the launch schedule, so plan the hacking flow and your margin against window timing before you even deploy.

“Operation Fireworks” is the opposite: destroy the rocket with a missile — the “stop the launch” sabotage line. Both contracts share the rocket zone as their high-risk stage, which makes the rocket area the most contested part of the map.

Random Event: Rocket Crash#

Effect Details
Collapsed bridges Some bridges break, reshuffling ground routes
Return capsule A return capsule drops (high-value wreckage)
Weapon skin protocol case A weapon skin protocol case spawns

The rocket crash is Space Base’s terrain-level event: collapsed bridges directly change which extraction routes are viable, while the return capsule and protocol case redistribute resources. When the event hits, the decision order is: first confirm which extraction routes the collapsed bridges affect → then judge whether the wreckage zone is worth a detour — doing it backwards is how you end up “grabbing the case but losing the route”.

Season 11 Extraction Changes#

Season 11 “Stars” adds random breaker points to Space Base and adjusts extraction mechanics:

  • Breaker point locations are no longer fixed, so camping the old spots stops working.
  • This belongs to the same “compress camp-and-extract” version direction as the new train rules in Longbow Valley.
  • Extraction decisions tilt further toward the certainty of “regular points + paid points” (paid extraction rules in Extraction point mechanics).

Container Route Suggestions#

With 9 to 11 large safes + 4 hacking computers in play, the container route on Space Base has two styles:

Style Flow Best for
Focused rush line Head straight for the densest container cluster, then pivot to contracts or extraction right after decrypting Short raids, concentrated risk
Spread sweep line Sweep the map clockwise / counterclockwise through large safe locations Longer raids, higher income ceiling

The three-digit codes on hacking computers (dot = 1-5, dash = 6-0) are worth more on a big map — faster decryption means one more target handled before the next squad arrives. The five-digit code on a large safe is a long, stationary action, so confirm the surrounding area is safe before you start decrypting.

Per-Raid Route Suggestions#

  1. Before deploying: the 600,000 gear budget is the highest entry cost in the game — run a full Top Secret template from Gunsmithing and ammo, and bring every serum and medical item.
  2. Opening: set a clear goal for the raid (container line / contract line / Demoulin line). Space Base is a large map, and unclear goals are the fastest way to come up empty on every line.
  3. Mid-raid: container lines sweep by the layout of 5+2 large safes and 4 hacking computers; contract lines head straight for the rocket area but keep an escape route.
  4. Late raid: Ascension-line squads watch the launch window closely; everyone else recalculates extraction routes after a bridge collapse or crash event reshapes the terrain.

Operator Fit#

  • Silverwing: off-target warning in open terrain (threat detection) + a per-second marking drone — the first choice against long-range snipers.
  • Uluru: the quick-set barricade solves the open-ground push problem.
  • Shepherd: sonic suppression counters the human-machine clusters of automated vehicles and Demoulin himself.
  • For squad compositions see Operator unlocks and team comps.

Economy Perspective Summary#

Space Base is the “peak of asset circulation” in Operations: the 600,000 threshold filters out the vast majority of random accounts, leaving formed squads and professional players. Every raid here tests the same economic proposition — whether the marginal return on gear investment is positive. Container density (9-11 large safes), boss drops, and the dual rocket contracts answer yes, but only if you can carry your loot out.

One last reminder: 600,000 is the “entry gear no less than” floor, not a recommended loadout — budget roughly 20% above your squad’s average gear value to leave yourself room for a redo after a death.
