Operator Unlocks and Team Comps#
As of the current season, the official operators page lists 17 operators across four classes: 4 Assault, 4 Support, 5 Engineer, 4 Recon. This page first solves the “how do I get them all” problem (the full unlock table), then the “how do I combine them” problem (class synergy and squad ideas).
1. Unlock Methods for All 17 Operators#
| Operator | Class | How to get |
|---|---|---|
| D-Wolf (Kai Silva) | Assault | Starter operator |
| Vyron (Wang Yuhao) | Assault | Unlocked on day 4 of the daily check-in |
| Nameless (Elie De Mombeel) | Assault | Launched with Season 4 (2025-04) |
| Gale (Claire Ann Byers) | Assault | See the official operators page for methods |
| Stinger (Roy Smee) | Support | Starter operator |
| Toxik (Zoya Ponchenkova) | Support | Unlocked at Genesis season pass level 15 |
| Butterfly (Lina Vandermeer) | Support | Launched with the S8 “Metamorphosis” season (2026-01-29), unlocked on the S8 pass free tier |
| Wanderer (Rowan Walsh) | Support | Free unlock on the S11 season pass |
| Sineva (Alexei Petrov) | Engineer | See the official operators page for methods |
| Shepherd (Terry Musa) | Engineer | Starter operator |
| Uluru (David Ferrell) | Engineer | See the official operators page for methods |
| Byte (Rashid Rahal) | Engineer | Launched with the S7 “Ahsarah” season (2025-11) |
| Liquid Nitrogen (Gabriel Muril) | Engineer | Listed on the official page; launch season not found in this research |
| Luna (Kim Luna) | Recon | Starter operator |
| Hackclaw (Mai Xiaowen) | Recon | Unlocked by collecting 500 GTI event tickets |
| Silverwing (Landon Harrison) | Recon | See the official operators page for methods |
| Echo (Luke Everly) | Recon | Launched with Season 9 |
Three takeaways:
- Free paths cover a lot: 4 starter operators + Vyron from check-ins + pass free tiers (Butterfly S8, Wanderer S11) + Hackclaw via event tickets means a regular player can own 8 operators for free, with all four classes covered.
- Seasonal operator cadence: S4 Nameless → S7 Byte → S8 Butterfly → S9 Echo → S11 Wanderer — roughly one new operator per season, and recent seasons lean increasingly toward the pass free tier.
- Liquid Nitrogen: the official operators page lists his abilities and background, but his launch window did not surface in this round of research, so no inference is made here.
2. The Class Synergy Model#
The shared class perks form a closed loop:
| Class | Shared perk | Role in the squad |
|---|---|---|
| Assault | Faster ADS movement speed | Breaching, first contact, snowballing |
| Support | Faster ally revives | Sustain, cleanse, resurrection |
| Engineer | Item specialist, torch cutting and repairs | Blocking routes, demolitions, fortifying positions |
| Recon | Recon radio gathers battlefield info | Intel, marking, anti-ambush |
A healthy squad answers three questions by default: who sees the enemy first (Recon), who shoots first (Assault), and who keeps the squad alive (Support and Engineer). A 3-player Operations squad usually closes as “Recon + Assault + two of Support/Engineer”.
3. Classic Squad Compositions#
Operations 3-Player Squads#
| Composition | Example members | Best scenario |
|---|---|---|
| All-purpose looting squad | Luna + D-Wolf + Stinger | Map intel → breach and engage → sustained healing |
| Building-clearing squad | Hackclaw + Vyron + Butterfly | Signal scan to locate → mortar area control → drone auto-revive |
| Point-holding grind squad | Echo + Byte + Sineva | Acoustic detection → spider route denial → full-body shield anchoring |
| Anti-recon infiltration squad | Nameless + Gale + Toxik | Recon-immune entry → high-forgiveness mobility → debuff pressure |
Warfare Compositions#
Large battlefields eat equipment, so the logic shifts from “three-player cell” to “role coverage”:
- Attack comp: Vyron (mortar to crack points) + Uluru (quick-set barricade to cross open ground) + Butterfly (auto-revive).
- Defense comp: Shepherd (sonic trap deployment) + Luna (arrow early warning) + Stinger (stim gun group healing).
- Mobile comp: Gale (roll-based forgiveness) + Silverwing (threat detection to counter snipers) + Wanderer (military dog pursuit marking).
Quick Counter Chart#
| Counter | Why it works |
|---|---|
| Nameless → Luna / Hackclaw / Echo | Silent Stalk ignores recon and shrinks sound propagation |
| Shepherd → Support class | 30-meter sonic suppression breaks healing rhythm |
| Hackclaw → helmet electronics users | Signal decoder tracks electronic signals |
| Silverwing → snipers | Threat detection lights up when aimed at |
| Butterfly → throwable playstyles | Drone intercepts one explosive |
| Liquid Nitrogen → electronic recon reliance | Cryo control does not depend on electronic signals |
4. Unlock Priority Suggestions#
A value-ranked order for regular players:
- Grab Vyron on day 4 of check-ins — a zero-cost second Assault.
- Always claim the pass free tier — S8 Butterfly and S11 Wanderer are both free, completing your Support slot in one step.
- Farm GTI event tickets daily for Hackclaw — tickets come from event missions, and the 500-ticket threshold is just daily accumulation; the signal decoder’s intel value in Operations is huge.
- Push the Genesis pass to level 15 for Toxik — an aggressive Support, priority for proactive players.
- Keep up with each season’s new operator — every seasonal operator ships with current-version mechanical dividends (like Wanderer’s military dog in S11).
5. Matching Operators to Maps#
The last step of operator selection is “matching the map”:
- Zero Dam (Administration Building vault line): Hackclaw’s decoder sweeps electronic signals in the Administration Building; Luna’s arrows see through walls into the vault zone.
- Longbow Valley 2.0 (water zone + radar station): Silverwing’s drone marks the radar station perimeter; Gale’s mobility suits wide map coverage.
- Tide Prison (indoor close combat): in an environment where Raven melee executes directly, Sineva’s full-body shield and Shepherd’s sonic traps outvalue mobile operators.
- Space Base (open ground + rocket zone): Uluru’s quick-set barricade provides open-field cover; Silverwing’s threat detection counters long-range snipers.
- Brakkish (helicopter threat): Vyron’s magnetic bombs and D-Wolf’s vehicle-adhesive hand cannon are excellent ways to down the Blue Hawk helicopter (paired with the “Broken Wing” contract).
More map detail lives on each map page: Zero Dam, Longbow Valley 2.0, Brakkish, Space Base, Tide Prison and AZ3.
