Puzzle Mechanics#

1. Find the Scroll: Locate glowing papyrus scrolls throughout the world
2. Read the Hint: Read the verse (riddle) written on the scroll
3. Travel to the Treasure Spot: Find the matching location based on the verse’s description
4. Loot the Treasure: Find the hidden chest at the indicated spot
5. Claim the Reward: Legendary gear, large amounts of gold, skill points

Note: The scroll location and the treasure location are separate. The scroll tells you where to look for the treasure.

Siwa Region#

Puzzle 1: Desert Spring

• Scroll Location: On a rock beside the pool in Siwa Village
• Verse Hint: “Beneath the spring watched over by the guardian, seek my gift in the cool water”
• Treasure Location: At the bottom of the central pool in Siwa Village
• Reward: Gold + materials
• Solution: Dive into the pool and find the chest at the bottom

Puzzle 2: The Vulture’s Nest

• Scroll Location: Inside a house by the eastern exit of Siwa Village
• Verse Hint: “The vulture nesting high above looks down upon the oasis, and beneath it a secret lies hidden”
• Treasure Location: At the base of the tallest watchtower in Siwa Village
• Reward: Epic gear
• Solution: In the bushes around the base of the watchtower

Alexandria Region#

Puzzle 3: Light of the Lighthouse

• Scroll Location: Alexandria harbor warehouse
• Verse Hint: “The colossus of Pharos Island lights the sea; in the deepest part of its shadow, the water guards a secret”
• Treasure Location: Underwater at the base of the Lighthouse of Alexandria
• Reward: Legendary trinket
• Solution: Jump into the water from the lighthouse and dive to the bottom of its base to find the chest

Puzzle 4: The Scholar’s Secret

• Scroll Location: Second floor of the Great Library of Light
• Verse Hint: “In the hall of knowledge, a scholar hid his treasure in the darkest corner, the place where thought sleeps”
• Treasure Location: The library’s underground archive
• Reward: Skill point
• Solution: Find the underground entrance from the library’s main hall

Puzzle 5: Market Code

• Scroll Location: Beside a stall in the Alexandria market
• Verse Hint: “In the noisy market, find the meeting point of three vendors, and look beneath the stone bricks”
• Treasure Location: Under the loose floor tiles beside the fountain at the market’s center
• Reward: Gold + gemstones

Giza Region#

Puzzle 6: The Pharaoh’s Gaze

• Scroll Location: Inside a tent at the Giza camp
• Verse Hint: “The pharaoh gazes upon the eternal desert; to his left, an ancient secret lies buried beneath the sand”
• Treasure Location: The sand to the left of the Sphinx (facing east), by its paw
• Reward: Legendary weapon
• Solution: Search the ground beside the Sphinx’s left forepaw

Puzzle 7: Heart of the Pyramid

• Scroll Location: Beside the entrance to the Great Pyramid
• Verse Hint: “A vast triangle reaches toward the sky; in its heart, the king and his treasure sleep forever”
• Treasure Location: The King’s Chamber of the Great Pyramid
• Reward: Epic shield
• Solution: Go deep into the pyramid to reach the King’s Chamber

Puzzle 8: Ship of the Desert

• Scroll Location: Western exit of Giza Village
• Verse Hint: “Where the ship of the desert often rests, a traveler’s offering lies buried beneath the ancient stele”
• Treasure Location: Beneath the stele in the camel rest area west of Giza Village
• Reward: Gold

Puzzle 9: Gift of the Sacred Bull

• Scroll Location: Temple of Apis, Memphis
• Verse Hint: “The sacred bull sleeps beneath the holy ground; in the direction its horns point, an offering awaits discovery”
• Treasure Location: At the foot of the wall the bull statue faces
• Reward: Legendary scepter

• Scroll Location: Memphis artisans’ district
• Verse Hint: “The finest artisan hid a lifetime of work in the hidden compartment of his workbench”
• Treasure Location: Beneath the largest workbench in the artisans’ district

Faiyum Region#

Puzzle 11: Tears of the Crocodile God

• Scroll Location: Temple of Sobek, Crocodilopolis
• Verse Hint: “The tears of the crocodile god fall into the sacred lake, beneath the largest lotus”
• Treasure Location: Beneath the largest lotus leaf in the sacred lake before the Temple of Sobek
• Reward: Legendary khopesh
• Solution: Swim to the center of the lake and look beneath the largest lotus leaf

Puzzle 12: Reward of the Harvest

• Scroll Location: Faiyum farmland
• Verse Hint: “At the end of the golden waves of wheat, where the shadows of three palm trees meet”
• Treasure Location: The center of the three palm trees at the far end of the farmland
• Reward: Gold + materials

Puzzle 13: The White Secret

• Scroll Location: White Desert camp
• Verse Hint: “Upon the white earth, a lone black pillar points to the sky, and treasure lies buried at its foot”
• Treasure Location: Beneath the only black stone pillar in the White Desert area
• Reward: Legendary bow

Puzzle 14: Offering of the Lost

• Scroll Location: Abandoned oasis, Western Desert
• Verse Hint: “The lost one thirsted for water in the driest of places, and at the bottom of a dry well found something that was not water”
• Treasure Location: At the bottom of the dried-up well at the abandoned oasis
• Reward: Epic gear

Thebes Region#

Puzzle 15: Blessing of Amun

• Scroll Location: Inside Karnak Temple
• Verse Hint: “In the sanctuary of the king of gods, the shadow of the tallest obelisk points to the treasure at noon”
• Treasure Location: Where the shadow of the tallest obelisk points at noon
• Reward: Legendary trinket

• Scroll Location: West bank of Thebes
• Verse Hint: “The queen sleeps in the shadow of the king; seek her jewelry among the burial goods”

Puzzle 17: Gift of Apollo

• Scroll Location: Temple of Apollo, Cyrene
• Verse Hint: “The sacred fire of the sun god lights the stage; at the center of the theater, applause is given to the treasure hunter”

General Puzzle-Solving Tips#

1. Read the Keywords: Key words in the verse usually point to a location, direction, or object
2. Use Senu: Once you reach the indicated area, use Senu to search for glowing spots
3. Time Factor: Some puzzles are time-related (noon / night)
4. Environment Interaction: Treasure may be hidden in destructible objects or underwater
5. Landmarks: Steles, statues, and trees are all important reference points
6. Map Markers: The map automatically marks the spot once you find the treasure location
