Palworld Guide#
Palworld is the open-world survival crafting phenomenon from Pocketpair — a game that launched into Steam Early Access on January 19, 2024 and finally went 1.0 on July 10, 2026. Catch creatures called Pals, put them to work, build automated bases, and shoot your way through a world that keeps expanding.
This hub is written entirely for the 1.0 era: 287 Pals to collect, a level cap raised to 80, the new Sunreach floating islands and World Tree endgame zone, plus the mutation and awakening systems layered on top of the already-deep breeding game. Whether you are lighting your first campfire or lining up the seventh Tower Boss, start here.

World and Regions in 1.0#
| Region / System |
Description |
| Sunreach |
Floating islands in the sky — the flagship new 1.0 area, home to a new Tower Boss and exclusive Pals |
| World Tree |
The main endgame region — yields Paloxite, Radiant Gems, and ancient civilization relics |
| Seven Small Isles |

| Soralite |
New 1.0 ore — only minable with special equipment |
Achievements#
| Platform |
Structure |
| Steam |
75 achievements — 18 of them added in 1.0 |
| Xbox |
Also 75 — split into a base pack and a “1.0 Update” pack |
| PS5 |
Full trophy set — including platinum |
Achievements cover 8 Tower Boss clears, 13 statue collection achievements (the largest category), plus taming and Paldex, exploration surveys, the Arena, fishing, dispatch, and research. The 1.0 additions worth planning ahead for: your first mutation, your first awakening, beating the Sunreach Tower Boss, catching the legendary sea Pal, first steps into the World Tree, clearing six Tower Bosses on Hard, and reaching Arena Legend rank. The rarest of all is Arena Legend at roughly 0.4% to 0.5% of players, followed by Arena Champion and Feybreak Guru at around 0.9% each. Eight achievements are hidden — their conditions are yours to discover in-game.
One warning: at 1.0 launch, statue achievements counted statues currently sitting in your inventory rather than your lifetime total, which could permanently lock progress on rare statue sets. The issue was fixed in patch 1.0.2 on July 29, 2026, so you can now collect and enshrine statues without worry.
Getting Started#

Tip |
Details |
| 1 |
Catch basic Pals first |
Don’t rush into combat — catch starter Pals like Lamball and Cattiva to gather resources and build up your base |
| 2 |
Build a Pal Sphere workshop |
No spheres, no captures — unlock the sphere production line as early as you can |
| 3 |
Pick your base site carefully |
Flat ground near metal ore, stone, wood, and water doubles your early efficiency |
| 4 |
Prioritize leveling |
Levels unlock the tech tree, and gathering, crafting, and combat all grant XP — quest and explore to level fast |
| 5 |
Watch Pal stamina |
Working Pals burn energy and slow down when tired — build hot springs and beds for them |
| 6 |
Unlock fast travel early |
Activate every fast travel statue on the map — 1.0’s new watchtowers double as fast travel points |
| 7 |
Shields beat health |
A shield blocks a huge amount of damage in the early and mid game — far more efficient than stacking HP |

Ten Golden Rules for Beginners#
| # |
Rule |
Details |
| 1 |
Catch low-level Pals first |
Don’t chase high levels early — catch 10 low-level Pals to bank Technology Points |
| 2 |
Campfire and bed on day one |
Build them immediately — you will freeze at night, and Pals refuse to work |
| 3 |
Leave 3 Pals at base |
Make sure three Pals are working before you explore — otherwise base output drops to zero |
| 4 |
Unlock fast travel |
Activate every fast travel point the moment you find it — it saves hours later |
| 5 |
Stock up on spheres |
Never head out with just 10 — carry at least 50 Pal Spheres and 20 Mega Spheres |
| 6 |
Catch a flying Pal early |
Grab a flyer like Nitewing or Quivern as soon as possible — traversal speed doubles |
| 7 |
Upgrade your workbench |
Upgrade every time you unlock new tech — otherwise advanced items stay locked |
| 8 |
Unlock sphere crafting |
Early sphere shortages usually mean you skipped the Pal Sphere crafting tech — unlock it and craft your own |
| 9 |
Catch a Beakon |
The best early-game transport Pal — fast, and it fights |
| 10 |
Never solo a Tower Boss underleveled |
Taking on a Tower Boss more than 10 levels above you is suicide — grind first |

FAQ#
When did Palworld leave Early Access?#
The game entered Early Access on January 19, 2024 and reached 1.0 on July 10, 2026 — the full launch landed simultaneously on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and macOS, with cross-play and Simplified Chinese support.
How many Pals are there?#
287 in total. The 1.0 update added 72 of them — 47 brand-new species plus 25 variants.
What is the max player level?#
- The cap was raised from 65 with the 1.0 update.
How many players can play together?#
Official servers hold up to 32 players, while private and dedicated servers support up to 4 — perfect for a regular co-op squad.
What are the mutation and awakening systems?#
Mutation comes from breeding: mated Pals have a chance to produce mutated offspring with higher stats and exclusive passives, and special cakes can steer the outcome. Awakening consumes Radiant Gems to unlock a Pal’s hidden power and sharply boost its stats.
How many Tower Bosses are there?#
Seven. Two of them were added in 1.0 — one in the Sunreach sky islands and one in the World Tree endgame region.
Are the statue achievements fixed now?#
Yes. A 1.0 launch bug counted statues currently held in your inventory instead of lifetime progress, which could lock achievements on rare sets. Patch 1.0.2, released July 29, 2026, fixed it.
