Palworld Achievement Guide#
Palworld launched in Early Access on January 19, 2024, and its 1.0 full release arrived on July 10, 2026. With 1.0, the achievement list expanded in a single sweep: 75 achievements in total on Steam, covering tower boss battles, statue collecting, Paldeck registration, Arena ranks, and 1.0’s new systems such as mutations and awakenings. This page breaks down the unlock conditions category by category against the official achievement list, then lays out a route to 100%.
One common misconception to clear up first: the achievement list needs no guesswork and no hedging along the lines of “check the platform page” — the total of 75 is confirmed, and so is every unlock condition. The only reason to open the platform page is to see which achievements your account is still missing. This page explains how the 75 are composed, so you can match them at a glance when you open your own achievement list.
Achievement Count and Platform Differences#
| Platform | How it presents | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Steam | 75 achievements in a single list | Total verified against the Steam achievement stats page in August 2026 |
| Xbox | Also 75, split into a “base achievement list” and a “1.0 Update” achievement pack | The same list shown in two segments, with unlock requirements matching Steam one to one — not double the work |
| PS5 | Has a Platinum trophy | Trophy databases disagree on the exact trophy count (different tracking standards and update cadences), so this page only states that a Platinum exists and reports no trophy number — a figure with an unstable source has no reference value |
Three additional notes:
- 8 achievements are hidden: before unlocking, the platform shows only the icon and name, not the condition description. Seeing “???” entries in your list is normal, not a display glitch.
- Achievements are independent across platforms: unlock records on Steam, Xbox, and PS5 never sync with each other. Pick one main platform and finish the list there in a single run to avoid duplicating work.
- Achievements and saves: unlock records are tied to your account and never vanish once earned, but the counting for the vast majority of achievements happens inside a single save — Paldeck registration, statue collecting, and tower boss kills all follow the current world. Keeping long-term collecting on a main save you know you’ll stick with is the first principle of the entire completion run.
Achievement Categories at a Glance#
The 75 achievements group into eight categories by content, and two of the large ones have fixed counts: 8 tower boss achievements and 13 statue achievements. The 1.0 update added another 18 new achievements on top (spanning several categories — see the dedicated breakdown below).
| Category | What it covers | How to progress |
|---|---|---|
| Tower boss (Sovereign) | Defeating the boss pair of each of the eight towers | Push the main story region by region and take the towers one at a time |
| Statue (Effigy) | Collecting the statue sets of each region, 13 in total | Sweep the map and collect — the biggest time sink of a full completion run |
| Paldeck and capture | Paldeck registration tiers, cumulative captures, capturing humans | Completes naturally alongside story progress and collecting |
| Exploration (Surveyor) | Revealing the map, fast travel points, region discovery | Advances in passing while you sweep the map |
| Arena | Arena rank achievements | A concentrated late-game push |
| Fishing | Achievements tied to the fishing system | Knocked out in the gaps between map runs |
| Expeditions and research | Cumulative achievements for expedition tasks and research projects | Moves forward naturally with base building and logistics |
| Full completion | Collecting every other achievement on the same platform | Settled automatically by the platform; naturally the last one |
Each category is expanded below in rough order of value and difficulty.
Sovereign Achievements: Taking the Eight Towers One by One#
The tower boss achievements are the most recognizable group on the list: 8 achievements, one per tower boss battle. Each tower is held by a tower boss and their partner Pal, and defeating that pair unlocks the corresponding achievement. Since no unified official localization exists for these entry names, this page keeps the original English names rather than coining its own.
| Achievement | Tower and region | Boss pair |
|---|---|---|
| “Hillside Sovereign” | Windswept Hills tower | Zoe & Grizzbolt |
| “Forest Sovereign” | Bamboo Groves tower | Lily & Lyleen |
| “Desert Sovereign” | Desert tower | Marcus & Faleris |
| “Volcano Sovereign” | Volcanic Island tower | Axel & Orserk |
| “Astral Sovereign” | Astral Mountains tower | Victor & Shadowbeak |
| “Libero Blossom Sovereign” | Sakurajima Island tower | Saya & Selyne |
| “Feybreak Realm Sovereign” | Feybreak tower | Bjorn & Bastigor |
| “Sunreach Sovereign” | Sunreach tower | Auri & Shaolong |
Progression notes:
- Order under the two timelines: the first five towers were main-story waypoints as far back as Early Access and complete naturally in one playthrough; the Sakurajima tower arrived with a major update; Feybreak and Sunreach sit at endgame tier under the 1.0 ruleset, and the Sunreach tower sits far above the first five in level. Schedule them against the recommended level table in our full boss guide.
- 1.0 rebuilt every tower boss fight: each tower has its own tower design and new mechanics, and each fight is now capped at 5 minutes (down from 10). The combat system was reworked in step — sprinting replaces the dodge roll, you can attack while sprinting and reload while dodging, and a new command lets you order your Pal to attack a specific enemy. Returning veterans running on Early Access muscle memory should adapt to the new controls before entering a tower.
- A tower boss’s partner Pal cannot be captured on the spot. If your Paldeck still lacks that species, head for the wild habitat of its regular version or close the gap through breeding — don’t farm the tower over and over for the Paldeck.
- Inside a tower you’re insulated from wild weather and the day/night cycle, which makes towers a good checkpoint for your current strength. If the same tower keeps beating you, going back to upgrade your gear tier, Pal levels, and type matchups works better than grinding it out head-on.
Tower boss progress on hard mode has its own separate achievement (see “Champion of the Palpagos Islands” in the 1.0 section). Take the 8 normal-difficulty Sovereign achievements first; they don’t interfere with the later hard-mode challenge.
Statue Achievements (Effigy): 13 of Them, the Largest Category#
Statue achievements are the largest category among the 75: 13 in total, split across two tiers:
- Traveler tier, 3 achievements: each statue type asks for only 4, but the statues themselves are rare;
- Guru tier, 10 achievements: each statue type asks for 20 — the collecting backbone of the entire list.
Key mechanic: each Guru-tier statue type has 30 copies in the world, and you only need 20 to unlock — a margin of error of 10, so missing a few doesn’t block anything. That downgrades statue achievements from a “collect them all” burden to targeted collecting: while sweeping, simply prioritize fast travel points and roads.
Traveler Tier (3 Achievements)#
| Achievement | Statue to collect | Count |
|---|---|---|
| “Island Traveler” | Relaxaurus statue | 4 |
| “Forest Traveler” | Lunaris statue | 4 |
| “World Traveler” | Yakumo statue | 4 |
The Traveler tier’s count requirements are low; the difficulty lives entirely in rarity. All three statue types are far less dense in the wild than the Guru-tier sets, and Yakumo (the World Traveler tier) is the hardest of the three rare sets to find — build it into the priority stretches of your sweeping route rather than waiting on random encounters.
Guru Tier (10 Achievements)#
| Achievement | Statue to collect | Region | Count |
|---|---|---|---|
| “Lamball Guru” | Lamball statue | Bamboo Groves | 20 |
| “Pengullet Guru” | Pengullet statue | Volcanic Island | 20 |
| “Munchill Guru” | Munchill statue | Desert | 20 |
| “Rooby Guru” | Rooby statue | Snowy Mountains | 20 |
| “Herbil Guru” | Herbil statue | Sakurajima Island | 20 |
| “Tanzee Guru” | Tanzee statue | Feybreak | 20 |
| “Depresso Guru” | Depresso statue | Sunreach | 20 |
| “Cattiva Guru” | Cattiva statue | World Tree | 20 |
The Guru tier holds 10 achievements, and the table above lists eight sets covering Bamboo Groves, Volcanic Island, the Desert, the Snowy Mountains, Sakurajima Island, Feybreak, Sunreach, and the World Tree. The remaining two sets follow exactly the same rules — again 20 of each statue type to unlock — so just fill whatever gaps remain in the in-game statue index while sweeping.
The Statue Counting Bug and the 1.0.2 Fix#
This is the historical incident every completionist should know about:
- At 1.0 launch (July 10, 2026), statue achievements counted the statues currently held in your inventory rather than your cumulative collection total. The consequence: once you offered statues away (trading them for capture bonuses and similar), your inventory count dropped and achievement progress rolled back with it. Worse, if you accidentally offered away an entire set of rare statues, that save might never reach 20 again — the achievement was permanently locked, and the only fix was deleting the save and starting over.
- Version 1.0.2 (July 29, 2026) fixed the problem: achievements went back to judging by cumulative collection. On the current version you can collect freely and offer freely — statues you offer up still count toward achievement progress.
If this pitfall has been weighing on you, you can stop worrying — on the current version there is no scenario where offering locks an achievement. One caution in the other direction: if you come across an old guide still teaching you to “hoard a full set of statues before offering any,” that’s a pre-1.0.2 workaround, and following it today only eats inventory slots for zero benefit.
While we’re here, offering itself also got smoother in 1.0: the capture bonus you trade statues for now unlocks each tier at 5 statues instead of 12. Offer as you collect — achievement progress and in-combat benefit run on two lines that never interfere.
Paldeck and Capture Achievements#
These achievements revolve around the Paldeck and capturing itself, making them the most “on the way” batch of the whole run:
- Paldeck registration tiers: five milestones at 10, 20, 50, 90, and 140 species, unlocked by cumulative registrations. 1.0 expanded the total Pal count to 287 (47 brand-new species plus 25 variants), but the top achievement tier only asks for 140 registered — you don’t need the full Paldeck for the achievements. The 100-plus you skip can stay interest-driven.
- 1,000 cumulative captures: a capture counter accumulated across the entire save. Story progress plus everyday restocking pushes this number up fast in normal play, so it rarely needs dedicated grinding.
- Capture a human (Inhuman Act): the condition itself is this game’s dark joke — use a Pal Sphere on a human NPC and complete a capture. The poachers around the starting area already qualify, making this one of the achievements you can knock out right at the beginning.
- The 8 tower boss achievements: battle achievements mapped one to one to the tower bosses — the same eight towers covered in the previous section, not repeated here.
Paldeck registration treats capturing as the standard action; defeating a Pal alone usually doesn’t advance the entry. For how alpha individuals versus regular ones register, defer to the per-entry progress notes inside the Paldeck panel. Breeding can fill gaps for species that are hard to reliably encounter in the wild — see our mutation system page for the mechanics.
Exploration, Arena, Fishing, and Logistics#
Exploration (Surveyor)#
Exploration achievements advance with map revelation and fast travel point activation. The watchtowers added in 1.0 solve “reading the map” and “getting around” with a single structure: climbing a watchtower reveals the surrounding map, and the tower itself doubles as a fast travel point. The new ancient ruins produce schematics as you explore. Climb towers and open travel points in passing while hunting statues, and the exploration category basically costs no dedicated time. For region layout and travel point locations, see our map and regions page.
Arena#
The Arena achievements track ranks, two in total: “Arena Champion” and “Arena Legend”. 1.0 added a Legend rank to the Arena and shortened each match to 2 minutes — raising the ceiling of the rank system a full notch. “Arena Legend” requires reaching the Legend rank and is the rarest achievement on the entire list (see the rarity reference below); “Arena Champion” corresponds to the Champion rank on the same climb. Both settle inside the Arena mode itself and have little to do with open-world combat strength — team composition and hands-on execution matter far more.
Fishing#
The list also carries a set of achievements tied to the fishing system, the most relaxed tier of the whole list. Fishing is itself a supplementary source of resources and Paldeck entries, so keep a rod on you between map runs and the related achievements will unlock naturally as you fish.
Expeditions and Research#
Both categories accumulate by behavior: expedition achievements track completed expedition tasks, research achievements track unlocked base research projects. What they share is the absence of any dedicated planning — story progress, base building, and logistics themselves generate these counts, making them the batch that turns out to be “already unlocked” when you come back to audit.
The 18 New Achievements in 1.0#
The 1.0 full release added 18 new achievements in one drop (on Xbox they form the separate “1.0 Update” achievement pack), pulling the new regions, new systems, and endgame content into the list. The eight with clearly defined conditions:
| Achievement | Unlock condition |
|---|---|
| “Meddling With Mutation” | Obtain a mutated Pal through breeding for the first time |
| “Hidden Potential” | Awaken a Pal with Radiant Gems for the first time |
| “Sunreach Sovereign” | Defeat the Sunreach tower bosses Auri and Shaolong |
| “Legendary Ocean King” | Capture the legendary ocean Pal Panthalus |
| “To the World Tree” | Set foot in the World Tree region |
| “Savior of Palpagos” | Defeat the endgame boss Astralym |
| “Champion of the Palpagos Islands” | Defeat 6 tower bosses on hard mode |
| “Arena Legend” | Reach the newly added Legend rank in the Arena |
The remaining slots are filled by statue achievements for the new regions — the two Guru-tier sets for Sunreach and the World Tree (Depresso Guru, Cattiva Guru) belong to this batch, with conditions mirroring the older statue achievements.
Suggestions for several of them:
- Mutation and awakening can both be done early: mutations trigger through breeding, while awakening needs Radiant Gems produced in the World Tree region. The former needs no high-level team and can be scheduled as soon as your breeding farm is up; the latter waits on endgame progress, but the moment you hold your first Radiant Gem, use it — don’t hoard.
- “Legendary Ocean King” tests your combat power at sea: Panthalus is a legendary ocean Pal, so prepare high-tier Pal Spheres and a counter team before heading out to sea.
- “Champion of the Palpagos Islands” is the ceiling of the combat achievements: defeating 6 tower bosses on hard mode demands an endgame team and maxed-out Pals. See our full boss guide and endgame pages for team-building ideas.
- “To the World Tree” is a progress achievement: it unlocks the moment you reach the World Tree, no planning needed.
Rarity Reference#
The percentages below come from Steam’s public global unlock rates — a statistical reference, not a difficulty ranking. They reflect the share of players worldwide who have actually unlocked each achievement, they shift over time, and they are not a list of things you must grind. The three currently rarest:
| Achievement | Steam global unlock rate | Why it’s rare |
|---|---|---|
| “Arena Legend” | about 0.4%~0.5% | Requires reaching the Legend rank added in 1.0, the top of the rank system |
| “Feybreak Guru” | about 0.9% | Requires collecting 20 Feybreak statues, the heaviest map-sweeping set |
| “Arena Champion” | about 0.9% | A high-rank Arena achievement, the last hurdle before the Legend rank |
How to read these numbers: the two Arena entries are skill gates — what stops people is execution and team composition; the statue entry is a time gate — what stops people is sweeping patience. All three are things that naturally remain when you’re nearly finished with 100%, not three challenges that demand dedicated practice. The list’s 8 hidden achievements also have low unlock rates, mostly story and endgame items — glance back at your achievement list after clearing one playthrough and you’ll confirm it yourself.
Full Completion Route#
Ordered by time cost and combat power requirements, the completion run falls into four stages:
- The natural first-playthrough stage: tower boss achievements (the first five towers), Paldeck registration tiers, cumulative captures, the first-time mutation and awakening achievements, plus the exploration and expedition/research categories — all unlock naturally along the main story. The only proactive moves in this stage: open every fast travel point you see, pick up every statue you see.
- The statue sweeping stage (the big time sink): the 13 statue achievements are one sixth of the list and the single largest time investment of the run. Plan routes by region and sweep area by area with watchtowers and flying mounts; each Guru-tier statue type has a 10-statue margin of error, so prioritize open, heavily traveled ground. After the 1.0.2 fix you can offer statues as you collect them, with no fear of progress rolling back.
- The Arena and hard-mode stage (the biggest power check): push “Arena Champion” to Champion rank and “Arena Legend” to Legend; “Champion of the Palpagos Islands” means running the tower bosses again on hard mode. Leave this stage until after your endgame team is formed — for loadouts, see our builds and playstyles page.
- The final audit: return to the platform achievement page, sort by unlock rate with the rarest first, and clean up stray leftovers — the Arena and statue achievements are almost always the last holdouts on the list.
Collection Checklist Before Deleting or Switching Saves#
Achievements bind to your account once unlocked and never disappear, but the process of unlocking happens on a save. If you’re about to abandon an old save (say, an Early Access era world you no longer want to continue), first check whether the following cumulative progress items are complete — every one of them accumulates per save, and a new save resets them all to zero:
| Collection item | How it’s counted | Cost if unfinished |
|---|---|---|
| Paldeck registration tiers (top tier: 140 species) | Registrations accumulated on the save | A new save means registering all over again |
| 1,000 cumulative captures | Captures accumulated on the save | A new save starts from zero |
| The 13 statue achievements | Collections accumulated on the save | Sweeping from scratch — the biggest time cost |
| The 8 tower boss achievements | An independent battle record per tower | Must be re-fought at the new save’s power level |
Two reminders:
- The statue counting bug was fixed in 1.0.2, so deleting a save is no longer an achievement risk; whether to delete now depends only on whether you still want to play that world.
- Progress on multiplayer servers and single-player worlds is fully independent. If part of your statue or Paldeck progress lives on a friend’s server, either finish it there or re-plan on your own main save — achievement counts never merge across worlds.
Final Thoughts#
Among the 75 achievements, what actually stops most people has never been the tower boss fights — after the 1.0 combat rework, that bar actually dropped — but the sweeping patience demanded by the 13 statue sets and the rank climb through the Arena. Break statue sweeping into your everyday map runs, leave the Arena until after your endgame team is formed, and nothing on this list is left to be anxious about. All that remains is to walk every corner of the Palpagos Islands with your Pals.
