Naval Combat Tips#
- Keep Your Broadside to the Enemy: Bow attacks fire from the side, so keep your flank facing the enemy
- Use Your Speed Advantage: Small ships are fast and can kite large enemy ships
- Target the Sails First: Destroying the sails reduces enemy mobility
- Use Ramming: Accelerate and ram enemy ships head-on for massive damage
- Watch for Shoals: Some waters have shallows or reefs — steer clear of them
- Fleet Actions: Allied ships sometimes fight alongside you during the story
Enemy Types#
| Enemy Ship Type | Traits | Countermeasure | ———- | —— | ———- | Ship Type | Traits | Tactic | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small Patrol Ship | Fast, low HP | A quick bow volley is enough to sink it | Fast, low HP | Quick bow volley to sink | ||||||
| Medium Warship | Balanced stats | Ram + bow combination | ||||||||
| Large Warship | High HP, heavy firepower | Keep your distance and use guerrilla tactics | ||||||||
| Fleet Group | Several ships acting together | Break them up one by one and avoid being surrounded |
Special Naval Missions#

Detailed Naval Combat Guide#
Core Combat Mechanics#
The core of naval combat is broadside duels against the enemy and head-on ramming boarding actions.
Bow Attack Mechanics:
- Arrows are fired from the right side of the ship
- Keep the enemy ship on your right for the best firing angle
- Consecutive hits set the enemy ship on fire (damage over time)
- Aiming at the sails lowers the enemy ship’s speed
Ramming Mechanics:
- Requires accelerating and sprinting for some distance
- Ram damage depends on relative speed and hull upgrades
- Head-on ramming does the most damage but is risky
- Side ramming can deal extra damage
Defense Mechanics:
- Hull Reinforce reduces damage taken
- Hull Reinforce has a cooldown
- If hull health reaches zero, the mission fails
- Higher-tier hull upgrades provide more health
Enemy Ship Weakness Analysis#
| Enemy Ship Type | Weakness | Recommended Tactic | ———- | —— | ———- | Ship Type | Weakness | Recommended Tactic | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Patrol Boat | Low HP | Sink it directly with a bow volley | ||||||||
| Archer Boat | Weak defense at close range | Accelerate, ram in close, then open fire | ||||||||
| Fire Ship | Limited ammunition | Keep moving, bait its shots, then attack | ||||||||
| Flagship | Stern / sails | Attack from behind and avoid head-on exchanges | ||||||||
| Fleet | Dispersed command | Divide and surround, break them one by one |
Common Naval Tactics#
Guerrilla Tactics:
- Keep sailing at full speed
- Fire a volley as you pass quickly along the enemy ship’s flank
- Never get bogged down trading blows with any enemy ship
- Suited to facing superior numbers
Ramming Tactics:
- Confirm the target ship is low on health
- Pull back to build up speed
- Ram head-on at full speed
- Turn away immediately after ramming and pull back again
Fire Suppression Tactics:
- Sail parallel to the enemy ship
- Sustain broadside bow fire
- Use Hull Reinforce to defend against counterattacks
- Suited to 1v1 duels
-
Stronger naval combat skills (story setting)
-
Cannot use Senu (but has her own way of scouting)
-
Since Senu cannot be used, bringing a Predator Bow (guided arrows) is recommended
-
For melee weapons, a regular sword is recommended (balanced and reliable)
-
Use assassination often to reduce combat attrition
Maritime Trade#
Although the game has no standalone trade system, maritime activities can bring in a great deal of wealth:
| Activity | Reward | Description | —— | —— | —— | Activity | Reward | Description | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Attack merchant ships | 300-600 gold | Merchant ships carry large amounts of cargo | ||||||||

| Coastal chests | 50-200 gold | Scattered along the coast | ||||||||
| Complete quests | 500-2000 gold | Naval combat quests |
Maritime Resource Route:
