Macduff is the protagonist of Crimson Desert, a former knight turned mercenary. Haunted by a tragic past and driven by a burning desire for redemption, he travels across Pywel taking contracts while searching for the truth behind his fallen comrades.

Macduff was once a knight of Pywel’s order. During a critical mission, his entire squad was betrayed and annihilated. He survived but lost his comrades and honor. Becoming a wandering mercenary, he trades his sword for survival while secretly investigating who betrayed them. His journey begins with a simple escort contract but gradually pulls him into a grand adventure involving ancient civilizations, royal conspiracies, and the fate of the world.

Elara — The Lost Sorceress / 失落的术士

Elara was once an apprentice at the Grand Academy of Sorcery, but fled after discovering forbidden knowledge about the ancient civilization that predates Pywel. She carries a fragment of an ancient artifact that allows her to understand forgotten languages. Her quest for the truth about her own origins is intertwined with Macduff’s journey.

Varko has crossed the desert more times than anyone alive. As a child, his caravan was attacked and he was left for dead, only to be saved by desert nomads. He knows every hidden spring, every buried ruin, and every shortcut across the vast sands. His greed is matched only by his survival instinct.
