Edward Kenway is the protagonist of AC4, father of Haytham Kenway (AC3) and grandfather of Connor Kenway (AC3). Born to a farming family in Swansea, Wales, young Edward ran away from home to become a privateer in the Caribbean. His story is an epic of greed, redemption, and legacy.

Blackbeard, born Edward Thatch, is the most iconic figure of the Golden Age of Piracy. Famous for terror tactics — lighting fuses in his beard during battle to create a demonic appearance. In the game, Blackbeard is the first major pirate ally Edward meets in Nassau, a key figure guiding him toward the pirate path.

查尔斯·范恩 / Charles Vane

Ah Tabai is the leader of the Caribbean Assassin Brotherhood. He is consistently skeptical of Edward’s motives — believing Edward fights only for personal gain, not freedom. He eventually accepts Edward and formally inducts him as an Assassin.

阿德瓦莱 / Adewale

阿德瓦莱曾是特立尼达的奴隶，后逃脱并在海上被爱德华救起。他成为爱德华的副官和寒鸦号的大副，也是游戏中最为理性冷静的角色之一。他在后来的《自由呐喊》DLC中成为主角。

Adewale was a Trinidadian slave who escaped and was rescued at sea by Edward. He became Edward’s quartermaster and the Jackdaw’s first mate, one of the most rational characters in the game. He later stars as protagonist in the Freedom Cry DLC.

玛丽·里德 / Mary Read

Historically, Mary Read was famous as a female pirate who dressed as a man. In the game, she’s an Assassin Brotherhood member operating under the alias James Kidd. She’s both Edward’s ally and a key figure guiding him toward the Assassin path.
