Counter-Strike 2 Characters Guide#
CS2 Agent System Overview#
Base Factions#
In CS2, every player belongs to one of two factions: Counter-Terrorists and Terrorists. Each faction has different default character models and unlockable agent skins.
| Faction | Abbreviation | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Counter-Terrorists | CT | Defenders — the bomb defusal side |
| Terrorists | T | Attackers — the bomb planting side |
Character Model Traits#
Although all character models share identical stats, the appearance of different agents affects visibility against certain map backgrounds.
| Trait | Description |
|---|---|
| Hitbox | Exactly the same for every character |
| Model size | Visual differences exist, but the hitbox is identical |
| Footsteps | All agents produce identical footstep sounds |
| Glove models | An agent’s built-in gloves can be overridden by equipped gloves |
| Viewmodel | Controlled by your viewmodel settings |

Agent skins are graded by rarity — the higher the rarity, the harder they are to get.

| Industrial Grade | Dark blue | Fairly common |
| Mil-Spec | Purple | Moderately rare |

Agents to Avoid#
Nothing here is a hard rule, but loud, brightly colored skins tend to stand out against most backgrounds, so treat them with caution on competitive servers.
How to Get Agents#
Agent Contracts#
Agent contracts are the main way to earn a specific agent skin. Each contract requires completing a series of missions.
Steam Market Purchases#
| Agent | Rarity | Approximate Price |
|---|---|---|
| Sir Bloody Miami Darryl | Covert | $30-60 |
| Number K | Covert | $10-25 |
| The Doctor Romanov | Classified | $5-15 |

Other Ways to Get Agents#
| Method | Description | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Weapon case drops | Extremely low chance of pulling an agent | Extremely low chance |

| Third-party markets | Avoid — these carry real risk | High risk |
| Operation pass rewards | Complete operations, earn tokens, and redeem | Takes a time investment |
Agent Visual Evaluation#
Color Analysis#
| Color | Strengths | Weaknesses | Example Agents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Black | Extremely hard to spot in shadows | ||
| Dark gray | Good all-round performance | ||
| Dark green | Strong in vegetated areas | ||
| Tan | Strong on desert maps | ||
| Camo | Works across many environments | ||
| Dark blue | Good on certain maps |
Silhouette Analysis#
A compact outline with no dangling gear reads as a smaller target, so bulkier models can catch the eye even when their colors match the background.
Glove System#
Agent skins can be equipped alongside weapon gloves. Gloves override the agent’s built-in hand model.
Popular Glove Recommendations#
| Gloves | Rarity | Price Range | Matching Agents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Driver Gloves | Covert | ||
| Sport Gloves | Covert | ||
| Moto Gloves | Classified | ||

Glove and Agent Pairing Tips#
Pick gloves whose palette echoes your agent’s outfit — a matching tone keeps the first-person view looking clean instead of clashing.
