Endings Guide#
The conclusion first: 007 First Light has only one ending. It is a linear narrative with no choice-based branching endings and no “good ending / bad ending” split. The “four endings depending on moral choices” you may have seen elsewhere is not how this game works.
1. Why There Is Only One Ending#
This game is an origin story about “how Bond becomes Bond”. The focus of such a story is not “which ending you end up on”, but “how he gets there step by step”. So the game puts the choices in the process — how you infiltrate, how you deal with opponents, how you complete the mission — rather than in the destination.
2. The Finale Flow (Chapter 10, “For England”)#
The finale puts Bond back in London as MI6 headquarters comes under attack:
- Holding the line: fight groups of enemies inside MI6; the combat leans toward “hold your ground”, and repositioning and cover matter more than suppressing fire;
- Key characters converge: Bond rescues Theresa Lorca (the Double or die achievement);
- The final confrontation: face and defeat Damian Weber (the You know my name achievement);
- The identity choice: he even briefly goes rogue outside MI6 (the Solo achievement) before returning to the line;
- Catch Isola (the The writing is on the wall achievement), and personally hold MI6 (the For king and country achievement).
In the ending, Bond earns his “00” status and personally chooses “007” as his own codename. That act of choosing for himself is exactly what “First Light” is all about.
3. Achievements Tied to the Finale#
| Achievement | Condition |
|---|---|
| Double or die | Rescue Theresa Lorca |
| You know my name | Defeat Damian Weber |
| Solo | Break away from MI6 and act alone |
| The writing is on the wall | Catch Isola |
| For king and country | Hold the line at MI6 |
Since the game has no missable achievements, even if you do things in a different order in the finale, you can always catch up later via chapter select.
4. Post-Game Content#
The credits rolling does not mean the game is over. Unlocking and opening up after completion:
| Content | Notes |
|---|---|
| TacSim | Turns the combat/stealth segments of the main story into challenges, including Operations and Escalations |
| Clearance Level | Raised by playing TacSim; reaching Level 3 grants the corresponding achievement |
| Chapter Select | Return to any completed chapter to mop up collectibles, challenges, and combat achievements |
| Leaderboards | TacSim challenges support scoring and ranking |
5. Three Tips for After the Ending#
- Collectibles first: all 92 collectibles can be cleared in one sweep with chapter select, when you are fully equipped;
- Then challenges: challenges unlock cosmetics and are partly tied to TacSim content;
- TacSim last: it is the only block on the achievement list that requires post-game content.
6. Common Misconceptions#
| Misconception | Fact |
|---|---|
| “There are four endings” | There is only one ending; the story is linear |
| “Choices affect the ending” | Choices affect the process and challenges, not ending branches |
| “Once you finish, you can’t go back” | Chapter select is always available; collectible progress is kept at the account level |
| “There’s nothing after the ending” | TacSim and the full cleanup content unlock after completion |
7. Want Another Run?#
The game’s completion cost is modest (the main story runs about 15-20 hours), and it lets you change difficulty at any time. If you want a replay in a different style — full ghost stealth, or a more aggressive loadout — you can jump straight back into chapters, or start a new save at a different difficulty. Since the story is linear, the replay value mainly lies in “playing the same scenes a different way”.
8. Upcoming Updates and Content#
The official roadmap for the first year includes new TacSim missions, a photo mode, new gadgets, and the story DLC “Return of Bawama” with Lenny Kravitz returning to voice his role. In other words, Bond’s story continues after First Light.
9. Things to Watch Before and After the Ending#
| Timing | Reminder |
|---|---|
| Before entering Chapter 10 | Top up both charge meters; the finale is defensive combat, and being short on resources hurts |
| Mid-finale | Prioritize character-related objectives (rescues, captures); they map to achievements |
| The moment credits roll | TacSim unlocks; check the new content right away |
| After completion | Use chapter select to start clearing collectibles and challenges |
10. Finale Difficulty Tips#
- Don’t overextend in the defensive fight: the MI6 segment is about “holding”; positioning matters more than kill count;
- Sort priorities: rescuing, capturing, and defeating key opponents are the main objectives; regular enemies can be bypassed;
- Keep an exit tool: smoke and flash are extremely valuable in this kind of scene;
- Don’t fear retries: chapter select makes the finale infinitely retryable, and the cost of trial and error is tiny.
11. The Ending and the Series#
This is an original origin story in its own universe: this ending does not connect to any Bond film and is not a prequel to any existing film continuity. It serves a self-contained new line — Bond goes from nobody to choosing “007” for himself. The year-one story DLC “Return of Bawama” will continue along that line.
