Season 5 New Weapons Explained#
Season 5 “Siege of Vegas” launched on October 13, 2026 with update 2.1.1.0 (download opened at 8:00 UTC, content unlocked at 12:00 UTC). It shipped with 4 new weapons; the full season plans 5 guns, 1 melee weapon, 1 gadget, plus one ground vehicle and one air vehicle.
New Weapons at a Glance#
| Weapon | Category | Official role description | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mk 24 | Assault rifle | Oriented to mid-to-long range, limited magazine capacity | Assault |
| RSPR | Compact PDW | Strong stopping power, better range than others in class, noticeable recoil | The self-defense line of Assault/Engineer/Support |
| Z84M | Belt-fed LMG | 100-round capacity, plenty of attachment options | Support |
| ELR-40 | Bolt-action sniper rifle | Excellent long-range sweet spot, single-fire mode moves the sweet spot closer | Recon |
Mk 24 — The Disciplined Mid-to-Long-Range Assault Rifle#
Reading the official description#
- Mid-to-long range: its engagement design centers beyond 50 meters; open zones on big Conquest maps are its home turf
- Limited magazine capacity: the officially admitted weakness — this is not a spray gun
Combat application#
| Scenario | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Open-objective standoffs | Burst discipline at mid-to-long range, braced against walls to control sway |
| Clearing buildings | Not its stage — swap to your second primary or a close-quarters gun |
| Magazine management | A small magazine means frequent reloads; always fall back behind cover to reload |
The Mk 24’s player profile is “the mid-range rifleman with good burst discipline”. If you hold the trigger and spray, its magazine will exhaust your patience first; if you are willing to control the rhythm with two- and three-round bursts, its mid-to-long-range payoff is worth the price.
Attachment direction#
- Muzzle and grip first, in service of “burst stability”
- Pick a mid-range optic around 3x magnification
- Magazine points are an option, but it is better to learn burst discipline and save the points
RSPR — The Compact Gun That Raises PDW Range#
Reading the official description#
- Strong stopping power: hard-hitting performance in close-range duels
- Better range in class: it reaches further into mid range than typical PDWs
- Noticeable recoil: an officially acknowledged cost — manageable but must be controlled
Combat application#
The RSPR is essentially “a PDW with near-assault-rifle reach” — it blurs the engagement-radius boundary between PDWs and assault rifles. For players that means:
| Scenario | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Clearing buildings | Stopping power cashes in its close-range advantage |
| Mid-range encounters | More reach than PDW peers — take the fight |
| Recoil management | Invest attachment points into recoil control first |
Its role suits two groups: players who want “one gun covering close and mid range”, and Engineer and Support players — classes whose primaries are visibly weak up close — using the RSPR as a self-defense line.
Z84M — A 100-Round Firing Position#
Reading the official description#
- 100-round capacity: the most straightforward trait among the season’s new guns; reload anxiety basically does not exist
- Plenty of attachment options: officially flagged as suited to deep customization — the most “shapeable” of the LMGs
Combat application#
| Scenario | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Objective defense | Belt up and seal the lane; a full attack-defense cycle without reloading |
| Push cover | Suppress enemy firing positions for long stretches, creating push windows for teammates |
| Deep customization | Use attachment points to reshape it toward mobility or stability |
The core of using the Z84M is the phrase “firing position”: once set up, it becomes a piece of terrain that shoots back. Paired with the Support’s deployable cover, a well-placed Z84M position can lock down an entire corridor.
ELR-40 — The Bolt Sniper With a Tunable Sweet Spot#
Reading the official description#
- Excellent long-range sweet spot: long range is its default home turf
- Single-fire mode moves the sweet spot closer: the fire-mode switch changes the engagement logic — its biggest mechanical differentiator
Combat application#
The ELR-40 is a “dual-form” bolt sniper:
| Mode | Engagement radius | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Default mode | Long range | Control long sightlines and maximize sweet-spot value |
| Single-fire mode | Sweet spot moves closer | Still a one-shot threat in closer encounters — the roaming Recon’s answer |
This gun changes the Recon’s positioning logic: a traditional bolt sniper must stay outside the firefight radius, but the ELR-40 in single-fire mode can push with the squad and stay dangerous at closer distances. Long-range overwatch and mid-range roaming, both delivered by one gun.
Attachment direction#
- Choose optics around your two modes: high magnification serves the long-range form, low magnification serves single-fire roaming
- Muzzle/barrel into stability
- Keep carrying C4 and the drone — a new gun changes the gunplay, not the class job
The Four New Guns in Season Context#
| Context | Details |
|---|---|
| Season maps | New maps Vegas Strip (casino, fountains, hotel towers, rooftop ziplines, drainage channels) and Area 51 (desert military base, underground tunnels, collapsible air traffic control tower) — one favors indoor verticality, the other open ground and tunnels; the four new guns each find their stage |
| Rest of the season | Phase 3 adds 1 more gun, 1 melee weapon, 1 gadget, and two vehicles |
| Balance climate | Scout helicopter rocket nerf, mobile AA buff (see AA Vehicles and Season Balance for details) |
| Event crossover | The Dead Space crossover (2026-10-20 to 11-07) includes the Pulse Rifle Battle Pickup — a limited-time event weapon, a separate thing from the four guns on this page |
A Note on Data Discipline#
All of the descriptions above for the four Season 5 guns come from official role statements; exact stats like damage, fire rate, and TTK have no complete official data tables, and this page will not invent numbers. Community test conclusions will keep shifting right after launch — trust your own firing-range trials and live feel. The firing range supports instant weapon trials: take a new gun to the range for a full control session before taking it into live matches.
