Weapon Guide: Assault Rifles and PDW

A note on weapon data for this site: officials have not published complete damage, fire rate, or time-to-kill data tables, so this page does not invent precise numbers and instead uses role descriptions based on official and community consensus. For exact values, trust your own in-game testing. Under the annual edition count the game has over 70 weapons; this page explains by category which gun fits which scenario.

Assault Rifles#

Role and Selection Logic#

Assault rifles have the widest engagement coverage of any category in the game: mid-range is home turf, close range is covered by sliding and mounting against walls, and long-range burst fire works too. There are three decision dimensions for picking an assault rifle:

Dimension Preference Notes
Engagement radius Mid-range generalist vs close-range lean Attachment points can push toward either end, but the gun’s foundation sets the center of gravity
Magazine capacity Sustained firepower Small-mag guns demand stricter reload timing
Recoil behavior Controllability Under the 100-point attachment system, grips and muzzles can significantly reshape the feel

Confirmed Specific Weapons#

Weapon Class Source Role description
M433 Assault rifle (NATO) Included in the Phantom Edition weapon pack (the “Glimmer” M433 assault rifle weapon pack) NATO service rifle positioning, a mainstay of the launch roster
Mk 24 Assault rifle New gun added in Season 5 Built for mid-to-long range with limited magazine capacity — either invest points into mag attachments or change your fire rhythm

The M433 appears in the Phantom Edition’s exclusive weapon pack (the “Shrouded” M433 pack), which makes it the representative model of the game’s NATO assault rifle line. Season 5’s Mk 24 pushes the assault rifle engagement radius further toward mid-to-long range — its limited magazine means it is not a spray gun; burst-fire precision comes first.

Assault Rifle Loadout Logic#

  1. Conquest on large maps: prioritize a mid-to-long range profile (something in the Mk 24 mold), since open-terrain firefights dominate
  2. City maps: engagement radius compresses, so close-range-leaning guns plus sliding movements pay off the most
  3. Assault dual primaries: one close-range gun plus one mid-to-long gun, so you swap guns on spawn without touching attachments

Personal Defense Weapons (PDW)#

Role and Selection Logic#

The PDW (personal defense weapon) tactical niche is “close-range suppression and high mobility”. Its value is not at long range; it lies in:

  • Fast movement speed, suited to flanking and vertical play
  • Strong close-range stopping power, the default choice for room clearing
  • A natural fit with the Assault class’s slide and crouch-sprint movement system

Confirmed Specific Weapons#

Weapon Class Source Role description
RSPR Compact PDW New gun added in Season 5 Strong stopping power, better range performance within its class, notable recoil (perceptible but manageable)

The RSPR is Season 5’s attempt to raise the PDW engagement radius: officials explicitly say it has “better range within its class” — meaning it can fight a stretch of mid-range that other PDWs cannot, at the cost of recoil that is more pronounced among its peers. Players who can control it get a “PDW with near-assault-rifle range”.

PDW Loadout Logic#

  1. Indoor combat (building districts, interior objectives): PDW home turf; stopping power first
  2. Assault Breacher path: PDW as the second primary, swap in when breaching doors
  3. Support and Engineer self-defense option: when the primary doesn’t cover close range, a PDW fills the gap

Engagement Radius Comparison: Two Categories#

Range band Assault rifle PDW
0-15 meters Usable, but less direct than a PDW Strength zone; stopping power pays off
15-50 meters Home turf Models with the “better range” profile, like the RSPR, can fight here
Beyond 50 meters Burst fire works; tune attachments toward precision Weak zone; don’t linger

Relationship to the Class System#

Class Assault rifles PDW
Assault Primary choice plus the mid-range slot in dual primaries Close-range slot in dual primaries
Engineer Optional self-defense pick Close-range self-preservation between anti-vehicle duty
Support Alternative when you want more flexible firepower (the LMG is the day job) Close-quarters guarding after deploying cover
Recon Rarely used Close-range supplement for the C4 raid playstyle

Under class-lock mode, each class can only use its corresponding weapon types — that is the whole point of the “class-to-weapon-type mapping” rule: it converges each class’s weapon choices into its duty radius.

Attachment Investment Priority#

Under the 100-point attachment system, the general investment order for assault rifles and PDWs:

  1. Muzzle: solve recoil or muzzle smoke first (the visibility problem)
  2. Grip: the most direct controllability gain
  3. Optic: pick by engagement radius — red dot up close, around 3x for mid-to-long
  4. Magazine: spend points here only when mag anxiety is severe
  5. Barrel/others: fine-tune remaining points by feel

For concrete point allocation and testing workflow, see Attachment Point Customization System.

New Season Weapons at a Glance#

Season 5 (launched October 13, 2026) brings 4 new guns; the full season plans 5 firearms, 1 melee weapon, 1 gadget, plus one land vehicle and one air vehicle. The Mk 24 (assault rifle) and RSPR (PDW) fall under this page; the Z84M (belt-fed LMG) and ELR-40 (bolt-action sniper) are covered in Weapon Guide: LMGs and Snipers, and the full breakdown of all four new guns is in Season 5 New Weapons Guide.

FAQ#

  • Which gun has the lowest TTK? There is no official data table, so any claim with a precise number is untrustworthy. Go by your actual feel — test at the range first, then take it into live play.
  • Can a PDW fight at mid-range? The official line on the RSPR is exactly “better range within its class” — it can, but you must accept its recoil cost.
  • What about the Mk 24’s small magazine? The official role is explicitly “limited magazine capacity” — either patch it with attachments or drill your burst-fire discipline.
