Crafting and Resource Economy#
In ARC Raiders, looting is not the finish line — the materials you haul back go into the workbench and come out as weapons, gear and augments, which is how they become long-term power. This page breaks down the structure of the crafting system, the recipe thresholds for legendary weapons, and how to prioritize materials.
Crafting System Overview#
The crafting process revolves around blueprints and materials:
| Step | Details | Key Point |
|---|---|---|
| Obtain blueprint | Unlocks the corresponding schematic after a successful extraction | No blueprint means no crafting |
| Gather materials | Collect the materials listed in the recipe | Rare materials gate your progress |
| Craft at the workbench | Complete crafting at the base workbench | Weapons, gear and augments can all be crafted |
| Put it to use | Equip it or restock | Consumables need constant replenishment |
The crafting system strings single raids together into long-term progression: every material you bring home serves the gear you take into the next run.
Legendary Weapon Recipe Table#
The two endgame recipes compiled by the community are listed below — they are the ceiling of the current crafting system:
| Legendary Weapon | Recipe |
|---|---|
| Aphelion energy battle rifle | Matriarch Reactor × 1 + Complex Gun Parts × 3 + Magnetic Accelerator × 3 |
| Dolabra energy shotgun | Magnetic Accelerator × 3 + Shredder Gyros + Vaporizer Regulators |
Note: community reports disagree on material drop rates, prices and workbench level requirements, and Embark has not published a full stat table — treat live in-game results as the source of truth.
Magnetic Accelerator: The Endgame Bottleneck#
Both legendary weapons need 3 Magnetic Accelerators, which makes them the current progress bottleneck. Community-compiled source information:
- Main sources: the Assembly Workshops and assembly line areas of Stella Montis;
- How to get them: mainly by looting on site;
- What it means strategically: Stella Montis is unavoidable if you want a legendary weapon. The endgame loop is essentially “farm Stella Montis for Magnetic Accelerators → kill the Matriarch for a Matriarch Reactor → synthesize it back at base.”
The Matriarch Reactor drops from the oversized Stella Montis boss Matriarch; see the Elite Enemies and High-Risk Zones Guide for how to fight her.
Priorities for Material Accumulation#
Manage the materials you bring home from routine looting in three tiers:
- Endgame materials (Magnetic Accelerator, Complex Gun Parts, Shredder Gyros, Vaporizer Regulators): hard requirements for legendary weapons, so do not waste a single one;
- Consumable materials: the raw ingredients for everyday supplies such as healing items, mines and shields — just keep a stable stock;
- General construction materials: the base resources for building up your base and conventional crafting. They are plentiful and lowest priority.
The matching rule for backpack management: endgame materials get hauled out first no matter how many slots they eat; general materials are the first thing you drop when space runs tight.
Suggested Workbench Crafting Order#
Once you have a batch of blueprints, crafting order directly shapes how fast your power grows:
| Priority | What to Craft | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | First finished copy of your main weapon | Turns a schematic into immediate power |
| 2 | Dedicated anti-ARC weapon | Unlocks heavy-armor targets and changes what content you can play |
| 3 | Shield and augment upgrades | Permanent gains that pay off every single run |
| 4 | Consumable restocks | Keeps stock above the line so you never run dry mid-fight |
| 5 | Legendary weapons | Takes no workbench time until endgame materials are complete |
The principle is unlock capability first, then stack numbers. One piece of gear of a new type (a dedicated weapon, the Snap Hook, utility mines) usually adds more to how you play than a numerical upgrade of the same weapon type.
Material Source Reference#
The mapping between major materials and where they drop (community-compiled):
| Material | Main Source | Related Map |
|---|---|---|
| Magnetic Accelerator | Assembly Workshops, assembly line area | Stella Montis |
| Matriarch Reactor | Dropped by killing the Matriarch | Stella Montis |
| Complex Gun Parts | Looting high-value areas | Mid-to-late maps |
| Shredder Gyros | Tied to killing Shredder-type targets | Multiple regions |
| Vaporizer Regulators | Looting high-value areas | Mid-to-late maps |
Community figures on exact drop rates vary, so treat your own results as truth; the conclusion on source distribution, however, is consistent: the geographic center of endgame materials is Stella Montis.
Three Tips for the Economy Loop#
- Extract in batches to protect materials: once endgame materials are in your bag, run the “fill it and leave” rule — one total loss can cost you a week of progress;
- Do not hoard finished products: finished weapons are expensive and take lots of space, so apart from your personal main, materials hold their value better than finished goods — craft on demand;
- Watch event windows: events like the Harvester and the Hidden Bunker supply both blueprints and materials, making looting during rotation periods several times more efficient than usual.
The Full Route from Materials to Power#
String everything on this page into one progression roadmap:
- Early game: stockpile general materials at Dam Battlegrounds and unlock basic crafting;
- Mid game: chase quests and event blueprints and build key gear such as the Hullcracker;
- Once your loadout comes together, head straight for Stella Montis: collect Magnetic Accelerators at the Assembly Workshops and challenge the Matriarch for a Matriarch Reactor;
- Craft the Aphelion or Dolabra and enter the endgame loadout loop.
