Currency and Shop#
Marvel Rivals is a free-to-play game: heroes and maps are all free, cosmetics are the only paid content, and none of it provides any stat advantage. This page lays out its currency system and store structure.
First, one common misunderstanding: this game has no equipment, items, or loadout system. Hero strength is determined entirely by abilities, team-ups, and teamwork — there are no stat items to buy or pick up.
Three Currencies#
| Currency | Color | How to Get It | Used For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lattice | Gold | Purchased with real money; small amounts from the battle pass | Premium battle pass, store cosmetics, extra Chrono Tokens, gifting |
| Units | Blue | Exchanged from Lattice at 1:1; free amounts from the battle pass, achievements, and events | Buying store bundles and costumes |
| Chrono Tokens | Purple | Completing missions and events; can also be bought with Lattice | Unlocking rewards on battle pass pages |
There are also Accessory Points — not a currency, but Chrono Tokens can be converted into them or Units at the end of a season.
Lattice#
Lattice is the only currency that requires real money. Reference top-up tiers on the CN server:
| Tier | Price | Received |
|---|---|---|
| Lowest tier | ¥6 | 100 Lattice |
| Highest tier | ¥648 | 11680 Lattice |
Lattice also appears in small amounts in the battle pass, but topping up remains the main way to get it.
Units#
Units are the currency the store prices things in, exchanged with Lattice at 1:1. A certain amount is given out free through the battle pass, achievements, and events, so players who never spend money can still slowly save up for the cosmetics they want.
Chrono Tokens#
Chrono Tokens are the battle pass’s dedicated token, earned through daily missions, weekly missions, and events. They cannot buy store cosmetics — they only unlock rewards across the pages of the current battle pass.
Store Structure#
Cosmetic products are mainly sold as “bundles”. Costumes inside a bundle can usually be bought separately, while the full bundle comes at a discount.
What a Standard Bundle Contains#
A standard bundle usually includes five items:
- Costume (skin)
- MVP animation
- Emote
- Spray
- Name card
Bundle Pricing#
| Type | Price | Standard Value | Discount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Epic | 1600 Units | 2200 Units | -28% |
| Epic crossover | 1800 Units | 2400 Units | -25% |
| Standard Legendary | 2400 Units | 3300 Units | -28% |
Cosmetic Item Types#
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Costume | A hero’s skin, including model and effect changes |
| MVP animation | A showcase animation on kills or victories |
| Emote | A playable hero animation |
| Spray | A pattern left on the environment |
| Name card | A player profile background |
| Avatar | An account profile picture |
| Kill effect | A visual effect when eliminating an enemy |
All cosmetics change visuals only and never affect any stats.
Battle Pass#
The premium battle pass is priced in Lattice. The Season 0 (S0) premium pass cost 490 Lattice — half the standard price of later seasons, because that season ran shorter. Later seasons’ premium passes are sold at the standard price and contain roughly 8000 Units’ worth of content, usually five costumes plus matching cosmetics.
The battle pass never expires: after purchase, even if you do not finish redeeming it during the current season, you can keep redeeming its items in later seasons. This differs from the battle pass rules of most similar games.
Spending Advice#
| Advice | Notes |
|---|---|
| Consider the battle pass first | The most content for the same spending |
| Check the bundle before buying a costume solo | Bundles are usually better value than single items |
| Watch crossover items | Crossover bundles carry high standard values, and their post-discount value is clear |
| No need to buy in a hurry | Cosmetics reappear through events, reruns, and store rotation |
| Spend Units on limited-time content first | Evergreen content can be bought anytime |
