Enshrouded 1.0 Full Release Changes Explained#
The 1.0 full release on October 15, 2026 is the capstone of Enshrouded’s two years in early access and the version with the biggest combat-system changes. This page organizes every officially announced change to date by system and pairs each with a practical read on “what it means for players.” The officials have promised the full changelog within October; if new content appears then, this page will be updated accordingly, and anything involving specific numbers defers to the actual 1.0 release.
New Content and Cap Changes#
| Item | Early Access | 1.0 Full Release |
|---|---|---|
| Player level cap | Level 45 | Level 50 |
| Gear level cap | — | Level 55 |
| Biomes | Seven regions | One new biome added (name and location not yet announced) |
| Hostile faction variants | Regular lineup | Variants added across all factions, some heavy or elite tier |
| Tier-7 Eternal Spells | A handful | 22 |
| Mage spells | — | 9 added |
The cap raises mean more than digits: level 50 paired with level 55 gear opens up an entire growth curve for the new biome and the reworked endgame loop. Graduation builds finalized at the end of early access will have to climb “one more slope” in 1.0 - which is also part of the point of the skill tree reset.
Skill Tree: The Second Full Reset#
- How it triggers: resets automatically on login, with all allocated skill points refunded in full - no points are lost.
- History: this is the second full reset in two years, the previous one being Update 8 “Forging the Path” on April 21.
- Official stance: they hope this is the last reset; they also warn players not to leave base with a bare tree - going out without allocating points “will be rough.”
- Practical advice: after the reset, the first priority is restoring core survival and damage skills before experimenting with new builds. The pre-reset preparation checklist is in FAQ.
Mage: 9 New Spells and the Summon Build#
| Category | New Spell | Combat Role |
|---|---|---|
| Control | Mana Drain | Damages enemies while restoring mana, a sustain spell |
| Control | Entangle | Roots targets for crowd control, buying cast time for big spells |
| Fire | Pillar of Flames | Sustained area damage for clearing dense packs |
| Ice | Blizzard | Wide-area slow and damage, a typical case of the longer wind-ups |
| Lightning | Ball Lightning | A roaming projectile suited to tight terrain |
| Summoning | Fire/Ice/Shock Totems | Placed turrets covering different weaknesses across three elements |
| Summoning | Hollow Skeleton | A tank-and-harassment summon |
The summon build centers on two new skills: Advanced Necromancy and Totem Mastery, both allowing more summons maintained at once. Combined with the 22 Tier-7 Eternal Spells - which no longer consume spell charges, upgrade like weapons, and can farm affixes such as reduced mana cost - the mage’s playstyle breadth in 1.0 is the widest of any class. The price is a reworked casting rhythm: mana costs and casting times are rebalanced, large area spells get noticeably longer wind-ups, standing still to deal damage is more dangerous than before, and positioning and control chains rise sharply in priority.
Archer and Staff#
- New skills: Puncture, Barrage, and Survival Instinct.
- New ammo: fire, shock, and bone Eternal Arrows, upgradeable with farmable affixes - arrows turn from consumables into a progression line you can invest in.
- Staff heavy attack: a new piercing heavy attack that can interrupt weaker enemies’ attack animations.
- New staff moves: aerial attack and dodge attack, with the dodge attack’s projectile wider and piercing.
- Lock-on targeting: now biased toward screen center and nearby enemies, reducing wrong-target locks in a melee.
- Environmental interaction: the staff can now detonate explosive barrels, making environmental kills a routine damage tool.
- Aim assist: ranged aim assist defaults on for controller, off for mouse-keyboard.

Boss and Combat Fixes#
| Change | Details |
|---|---|
| Youngling grounded | The Fell Dragon Youngling now lands on the ground in 1.0, letting melee players attack without building stun first |
| Heal bug | Fixed the bug where this boss healed back to full mid-fight |
| Stuck fix | Fixed the get-stuck bug related to its fight |
This fix is a genuine gift for melee players: in early access you had to fill the stun bar to knock the youngling down first; in 1.0 it is grounded from the start, making the boss fight noticeably faster. For strategy details see Boss Compendium (III).
Life-Sim System Changes#
- Fishing reworked: bait now primarily comes from fishing in its own biome, cutting the “loot-box fishing pond” frustration. To catch a specific fish, go to the right biome first.
- Appearance options: character body appearance gains more realistic customization options.
- Base upkeep: fewer cases of NPCs and pets getting stuck inside player bases - the workshop area finally stops jamming doorways so easily.
- Glider: the updraft mechanic was adjusted in response to community feedback after Update 8.
Performance and Engine#
1.0 pours a lot of effort into polishing the in-house engine, with a clear focus on low- and mid-end PCs:
| Optimization | Effect |
|---|---|
| Lighting and shadow rendering | Better visuals with more reasonable render overhead |
| Draw distance | Significantly improved; distant landmarks come into view earlier |
| Scene load pop-in | Noticeably reduced; distant mountains and buildings appear more coherently while gliding |
| Low- and mid-end PCs | The officially stated target group for optimization |
For concrete settings advice and low-spec strategies see Performance Optimization and Settings Advice.
Multiplayer and Platforms#
- No cross-platform play: confirmed by the official community manager on October 5 - 1.0 does not support crossplay at launch, with the officials studying adding it later.
- PS5 online: requires a PlayStation Plus subscription.
- PS5 servers: no self-hosted dedicated servers; hosted rental only.
- Server compatibility: per hosting providers, PC and PS5 players cannot join each other’s servers.
- Version consistency: after 1.0 launches, client and server must both be version 1.0 or a version mismatch blocks entry.
For the full multiplayer picture see Multiplayer and Servers Guide.
What Has Not Changed#
- No mod support: the officials provide no mod support and there is no Steam Workshop.
- No official wipe: no server wipe has been announced and saves carry over; hosting providers still recommend backing up your save before updating.
- Unlock hour: as of writing, the exact unlock time on 1.0 launch day has not been announced.
- Full changelog: the officials plan to release the complete changelog and highlights video within October; specific numbers and lists defer to the full release.
