Map Guide: Buried City#
Buried City is the second unlocked map in ARC Raiders, a stretch of city ruins left buried. It holds the densest concentration of indoor firefights in the game, and community loadout guides mark it as the home turf of “indoor close-quarters PvP”. This page breaks down the city POIs and the essentials of fighting through its streets.
Map Identity#
| Attribute | Details |
|---|---|
| Unlock order | 2nd |
| Terrain traits | City ruins, dense building clusters |
| Playstyle tags | Indoor close quarters, frequent PvP |
| Enemy composition | Standard ARC units + high player density |
| Recommended loadout | Combat-series Augment + short/mid-range weapons + medium/heavy shield |
The looting tempo on a city map differs completely from the open maps: dense rooms mean a high yield per minute, and corridors and doorways mean encounters resolve as close-range bursts.
Core Points of Interest#
| POI | Type | Loot value |
|---|---|---|
| Hospital | Medical facility | High, concentrated medical supplies |
| Space Travel | Commercial facility | Medium, a distinctive looting spot |
| Town Hall | Administrative building | High, rich in office supplies |
| Library | Public building | Medium, a steady looting spot |
| Research Plaza | Research area | High, produces tech components |
| Rosa Grandioso Apartments | Residential blocks | Medium-high, rich in household supplies |
POI Breakdown#
Hospital#
The core source of medical supplies, with value density that scales with the risk. Key points:
- Clear the pharmacy and ward areas room by room; medical supplies are extremely valuable for later runs;
- The corridors are long and narrow, so corner encounters are more likely here than anywhere else — pre-aiming is required study;
- The multi-floor layout means vertical threats, and stairwells are classic ambush spots.
Town Hall#
An administrative building covering both office supplies and tech components. Key points:
- Together with the Hospital it forms the city core, where foot traffic is heaviest, so watch the perimeter before entering;
- The office rooms follow a regular layout, which suits fast, systematic looting;
- Plan your extraction route in advance — you need a fast exit once a firefight breaks out in the core.
Research Plaza#
A research-style area and a high-value spot for tech components and rare materials. Key points:
- Supplies inside the lab-type facilities take priority, approaching the value tier of endgame materials;
- The open plaza exposes you at long range, so move along the building edges;
- Pair it with the Library to form a western looting path.
Rosa Grandioso Apartments#
The residential blocks are a high-yield area for household supplies and odds and ends, and a training ground for street fighting. Key points:
- The apartment layout is complex, with vertical and horizontal movement lines crossing, ideal for practicing indoor positioning;
- Loot returns per minute are stable, which suits experienced players farming it repeatedly;
- Dense rooms mean enemies, human and machine alike, get in your face easily, so close-quarters weapons and shotgun thinking win out.
Core Close-Quarters Essentials#
Three iron rules for indoor fighting:
- Read the sound: footsteps are highly directional inside buildings, so listen first and move second;
- Control the corners: corners are the main battlefield of Buried City, and hugging them while pre-aiming raises your survival rate by an order of magnitude over charging in head-on;
- Compress the engagement distance: long-range weapons lose their edge indoors, so bring short and mid-range firepower.
Recommended Looting Routes#
Two movement lines proven in practice:
| Route | Nodes | Traits |
|---|---|---|
| Core hot line | Hospital → Town Hall → Research Plaza | Highest value, fiercest competition; suits heavy runs |
| Steady west line | Library → Research Plaza → Rosa Grandioso Apartments | Mild competition, steady returns; suits the transition period |
Both routes should end toward an extraction point — extraction decisions are especially decisive on a city map, since walking one extra block on a full bag raises the risk sharply.
Special Notes#
- Player density is high on a city map, so the window where “they have not spotted you” is shorter than on open maps; loot fast;
- Indoor gunfire echoes between buildings, and one firefight can pull two or three waves of onlookers, so relocate immediately after fighting;
- Medical supplies are both abundant here and always in demand, making them the most practical resupply source once you are back underground;
- The usual blueprint discipline applies — commercial and administrative buildings are also hotspots for schematic spawns.
