Most Anticipated Games of 2026#

Last updated: October 6, 2026

First, an Important Note: The Old List Was Wrong#

The previous version of this page placed Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Monster Hunter Wilds, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Death Stranding 2, Elden Ring Nightreign, EA SPORTS FC 26, and a dozen other titles into “2026 quarterly anticipation tables,” and invented unsourced data for each — “media score predictions,” “pre-order volume tiers.” Verified title by title, all of these games released in 2025. This version has been fully rewritten against official information, in four parts: major titles confirmed for release within 2026, announced but undated or cross-year titles, a look back at 2026’s already-released titles, and a correction list for the old list’s misplacements.

Part 1: Major Titles Confirmed for Release in 2026#

Grand Theft Auto VI — November 19, 2026#

Item Official Information
Release Date November 19, 2026
Launch Platforms PS5, Xbox Series X|S (PC unannounced)
Pre-orders Opened June 25, 2026
Developer Rockstar Games

GTA 6’s schedule has been turbulent: initially targeted for fall 2025, first delayed to May 26, 2026, then delayed again to the current November 19, 2026. Per Rockstar’s official channels and the Hong Kong store, HK pricing comes in two tiers: HK$568 and HK$708; physical boxed editions contain download codes, not discs. PC players currently have no official release window — Rockstar has historically staggered console-first, PC-later, but this time the company has not even stated “coming to PC later,” and we will not speculate.

Our GTA 6 section will update with previews and launch guides as release approaches.

Phantom Blade Zero — October 29, 2026#

Item Official Information
Release Date October 29, 2026
Platforms PS5, PC (Steam/Epic)
Developer & Publisher S-GAME
Engine Unreal Engine 5

The game was originally set for September 9, 2026 (a date announced at TGA in December 2025), before the studio confirmed a 50-day delay to October 29. Sony’s State of Play presentation on August 17, 2026 aired roughly 20 minutes of gameplay; pre-orders opened the same day. Donnie Yen serves as creative consultant and provided motion capture for the character “Moyuan.”

Our Phantom Blade Zero preview section collects State of Play deep dives, pre-order info, and combat breakdowns.

Part 4: Correction List — 2025 Titles the Old List Misplaced into 2026#

All of the following titles released in 2025. The old version’s labeling of them as “2026 Q1/Q2/Q3 upcoming” was factually wrong. Corrections, title by title:

Game Actual Release Date Platforms
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II February 5, 2025 PC/PS5/Xbox Series
Avowed February 18, 2025 (PS5: February 17, 2026) Xbox Series X|S, PC, Game Pass day one

Part 5: Data This List No Longer Provides (and Why)#

The old page contained the following unverifiable content, all deleted in this version. The methodology is stated here for transparency:

Old Content Reason for Removal
“Player anticipation index comparison” table (media score predictions of 97-100, etc.) Prediction ranges had no source whatsoever; fabricated
“Game series historical data” table (predecessor sales/Metacritic scores) Sales and scores were not verified item by item; not citable
“Platform distribution” and “developer statistics” tables Built on an erroneous timeline; invalidated with it
“Guide coverage plan” table (projected 25+ pages, etc.) Page-count promises did not match the site’s reality and rested on incorrect release statuses
“2026 industry trend predictions” table Fabricated predictive content

This page now retains only traceable official information: release dates, platforms, pricing, and announced media scores (e.g., Forza Horizon 6’s Metacritic PC 89 / XSX 92, Beast of Reincarnation’s OpenCritic average 72).

Part 6: How to Track Future Updates#

  • Release dates: Follow official publisher channels. This page corrects its timeline per official announcements; the next key checkpoints are Phantom Blade Zero’s October 29 release and GTA 6’s November 19 release.
  • Guide cadence: Around Phantom Blade Zero’s launch, our preview section (Chinese) will publish hands-on first impressions; at GTA 6’s launch, the section (Chinese) will go live with launch guides simultaneously.
  • Indie games: For smaller-title news, see Best Indie Games of 2026, whose entries for Slay the Spire 2, Subnautica 2, and Beast of Reincarnation match this page’s methodology.

With under three months left in 2026, the truly unreleased blockbusters amount to just two names — Phantom Blade Zero and GTA 6. Which is exactly the point: anticipation should be built on officially announced facts, not on a table that places 2025’s games in 2026. That is why this page was rewritten.
