Aniimo FAQ & Troubleshooting#
This page pulls together the questions the community asks most often, grouped by topic, with the game mechanics behind each answer. Everything here is based on verified mechanics; wherever a figure has never been officially published, we flag that the live game version is the final word. If you hit a technical problem this page doesn’t cover, the official support channels are listed at the end.
Capture Questions#
Q: Why does the game say I can’t capture when I point a Cube at a boss? A: Boss-tier bosses simply can’t be captured — that’s by design, not a bug, and the game tells you so the moment you raise a Cube. The capture ceiling is the Elite tier: defeat an Elite, drain its stamina, and it’s yours to catch. The complete rules for both tiers are in the capture mechanics guide.
Q: I’ve thrown plenty of Cubes and they all failed. Are they broken? A: Check three things first — whether the target is 11 or more levels above you (capture rates start dropping past that point), whether the Break gauge has been fully depleted (the vulnerability window is where most of your success rate comes from), and whether you’ve stacked a rear strike or sleep on top. How the three stack up is covered in the capture mechanics guide; it’s also worth confirming you’ve claimed the 10% capture rate bonus for reaching 40% region completion (see region completion and the capture rate bonus).
Q: What if an Ultra Cube fails? A: An Ultra Cube is guaranteed to succeed and roll at least Elite potential — if a throw ever misses, first confirm the throw actually connected and that the target is in a capturable state (bosses aren’t). Still in doubt? Contact official support (channels listed at the end of this page).
Q: The Aniimo I want never shows up. What can I do? A: Check two time-based factors — the day/night cycle (species that sleep by day are only active in certain windows) and the weather (a single weather change can spawn rare varieties). The detailed mechanics are in weather, day/night and rare spawns.
Progression Questions#
Q: My Aniimo rolled a bad personality. Should I catch a new one? A: No. Personalities follow the MBTI system and map to stat groups like Attack and Break, or Damage and Crit Rate — the real impact on strength is small, and community guides openly advise against recatching over and over for a personality. The only thing worth paying a recatch cost for is the aptitude tier (see aptitude and Shining Stars).
Q: Getting 64 points out of aptitude synthesis is hard. What if I fall just short? A: A Shining Star takes 64 total innate aptitude points, and there’s exactly one way to patch an innate shortfall: Potential Fruit from the camp shop, which raises each of the two recommended base potential stats by 1 — once per Aniimo. Purple-gold individuals one or two points short are worth feeding fruit to make the push; anything further off is better assigned to Homeland work or kept for gifting (see the Homeland work guide).
Q: Will evolving a shiny make it lose the shiny? A: No case of a shiny trait failing to carry over has ever been recorded, but there is one thing you must do before evolving: check the Aniilog to confirm the branch — plenty of Aniimo have multiple evolution branches with different conditions (cases in evolution branches), and taking the wrong branch can’t be undone.
Q: My squad is four damage dealers — why can’t we put a dent in Elites? A: You’re missing a Break role. Aniimo split into five roles, a squad should mix at least three of them, and at least one Break unit is mandatory — without one, Break gauge depletion crawls, the vulnerability window never opens, and damage windows go to waste. The full rules are in the five roles and the Break rule.
Combat Questions#
Q: Commander Mode or Fusion Mode — which one is stronger? A: It isn’t either/or. Commander Mode is for directing the fight and dodging through positioning (you can call an Aniimo to a chosen spot to keep it out of harm), while Fusion Mode is for dodging personally and landing burst combos — you can drop fusion and switch back at any point mid-battle. How the two divide the work: two battle modes: Commander and Fusion.
Q: My four Aniimo keep failing to get their skills off. Why? A: The four members of your squad share a single energy bar — skills draw on it as needed, it isn’t a separate pool for each Aniimo. How to manage it: squad and energy bar management.
Q: We’re stuck on an Elite fight. Is it an element problem? A: Very likely. A squad built around the counters of the nine elements (Holy, Fire, Ice, Dark, Electric, Grass, Water, Rock, Wind) makes Elite fights noticeably smoother, while a single-element team stalls the moment it meets a resistance — filter the Aniilog by element before the fight and swap your team. The method: the nine elements and mixed squads.
Multiplayer & Account Questions#
Q: Gifting an Aniimo won’t go through. What’s wrong? A: Gifting has scope limits — what you can gift are region and weather forms with a top aptitude of 10, covering both regular and Umbral Aniimo, and this limit doesn’t stack against other gifting caps. Anything outside that scope can’t be gifted; the rules are in co-op gifting and multiplayer.
Q: Do PC and mobile share progress? A: Yes. Mobile, PC and console all support full crossplay and progress sharing on the same servers, so you can hand off seamlessly between devices; logging in on two platforms and binding your account also earns bonus Glowstone. Details in crossplay and platform support.
Q: Is my hardware strong enough to run it? A: The complete official spec sheet hadn’t been verified in full through public channels as of writing, so go by the system requirements on the Steam store page (App ID 4126040); Steam Deck is tagged Playable. Notes in crossplay and platform support.
Q: Homeland efficiency shows no numbers — how do I tell good from bad? A: How efficiency is displayed follows the in-game UI, so judge it by comparison instead: rotate Aniimo through the same post, watch how quickly output accumulates, and swap out the slow ones. The test process is in the Homeland work guide.
Q: What can the Aniilog filter by? A: The Aniilog filters on four axes — element, role, stage and region. Hunt down gaps by region, build squads by role and element, and trace evolution lines by stage. How to use the tool: region completion and the capture rate bonus.
Q: The Aniimo I wanted got alerted and fled — will I run into it again? A: Yes. Wild Aniimo spawn according to each region’s species distribution (how zones work in weather, day/night and rare spawns) — fleeing doesn’t mean gone for good. Head back to the right region and try again, avoiding a head-on charge.
Version & Troubleshooting#
Q: I ran into a bug or a visual glitch. What now? A: Official fixes arrive at a high tempo — Steam builds ship roughly every 2 to 4 days, and update notes are signed by Polaris Institute. One fix that already shipped: patch 1.0.3616231.0 resolved blurry textures on some Irisalis models. When something goes wrong, work through this order:
- First confirm the game is on the latest version — at this patch tempo, an old-version issue may already be fixed in the next build;
- Check official announcements and community reports to see whether it’s a known issue;
- Known issues: wait for the fix. Unknown issues: report them through the support channels.
Q: Who do I contact about game data or account problems? A: The official support email is aniimo_support@funplus.com — account, payment and data issues go through the email channel, and you should include your account details and screenshots of the problem when writing in.
Q: The numbers in guides online don’t match my game? A: Numbers in a free-to-play online game shifting between versions is normal — this site holds to the line that “the live game version is the final word,” and any third-party guide (including ours) can be carrying an outdated snapshot. Mechanics content (flow, rules, system structure) ages far more slowly than numbers; when the two conflict, trust the game.
