Aniimo Glossary#
This page collects the core terms specific to Aniimo, grouped by gameplay category. Every entry covers only mechanics that genuinely exist in the game, and the explanations follow official briefings and verified community guides. Whenever you hit an unfamiliar word on another guide page, come back here and look it up.
World and Identity#
| Term |
Explanation |
| Idyll |
The vast continent of the game, the main world players explore, with a floating sky city still waiting to be reached |
| Pathfinders |
The role players take, those who step into Idyll, meet the Aniimo and adventure alongside them |
| Aniimo |
The collective name for the wondrous creatures of the game; they can be captured, raised and fused through Twine; the Aniilog lists 86 of them, with the official claim being 200+ kinds including evolutions and variants |
| Aniilog |
The catalog system that records every Aniimo, filterable by element, role, stage and region |
| Iridescent Aniimo |
One of the rarest individual types; the launch reward “select a rare Iridescent Aniimo of your choice” refers to this category |
Core Mechanics#
| Term |
Explanation |
| Twine |
The signature system of the game: pick an Aniimo and perform Twine to transform directly into that Aniimo, inheriting its exclusive abilities and exploring the world from an Aniimo’s point of view |
| BREAK |
The break gauge above an enemy’s head, whittled down by continuous attacks; when it hits zero the target enters a vulnerable state that is easy to capture |
| Vulnerable state |
The capture-friendly window triggered once the break gauge is emptied, when throwing a cube has a high success rate |
| Break slot |
The squad role in charge of draining the enemy break gauge, matching the Break role; see Five-Role Team Building |
| AniiPod |
The core line of capture items for catching Aniimo, split into several tiers |
| Break value |
Synonymous with the break gauge; cutting a target’s break value down to 0 is one way to raise the capture rate |
| Aniilog research level |
Raising the research level of a given Aniimo increases the odds of a Shiny individual appearing |
| Capture window |
The capturable period after the break gauge empties and the target turns vulnerable; this is where stacked methods and cube tiers pay off |
Capture Items#
| Term |
Explanation |
| Cube |
The common community shorthand for the AniiPod line of capture items |
| Ultra Cube |
Guaranteed success and at least Elite potential tier; supply is limited, so save it for rare targets |
| Sparkling Cube |
Guaranteed success plus Perfect potential and a Shiny, best suited to catching Iridescent Aniimo or hatching Iridescent eggs |
| Tumbler Cube |
A special cube that captures Aniimo along a controllable tumbling roll |
| Track Cube |
The tier of the cube line tied to tracking functions |
| Aniimo Egg |
A hatchable egg item; launch rewards include a limited Aniimo Egg, and Sparkling Cube pairs well with hatching Iridescent eggs |
Rarity and Aptitude#
| Term |
Explanation |
| Shiny |
One of the rare individual traits, with a glittering appearance; raising research level increases appearance odds |
| Prismatic |
One of the rare individual traits; the Prismatic form depends on “Prismatic weather” spawns, and Orbs can also convert a form directly |
| Prismatic weather |
One of the world’s dynamic weather types; while it lasts, Prismatic-form individuals spawn |
| Boss |
One of the rare individual traits; Boss-tier Aniimo can be knocked down in battle and captured after their stamina is drained |
| Overlord |
The highest-tier target, which cannot be captured; the screen warns you when you raise a cube at one |
| Aptitude |
An Aniimo’s innate quality, split into four tiers: green, blue, purple and gold |
| Shining Star |
The title given to individuals whose total innate aptitude score reaches 64 points |
| Umbral Aniimo |
A special-form individual that can be gifted in Co-Op mode (limited to regional and weather forms with a maximum aptitude of 10) |
| Potential Fruit |
A raising item sold at the Camp Shop that adds 1 to each of the two recommended base potential values; each Aniimo can only consume one |
Battle and Raising#
| Term |
Explanation |
| Commander Mode |
Direct your Aniimo in battle from a trainer’s view: buff, heal and call them to a position to dodge damage |
| Twine Mode |
Transform into the Aniimo yourself and fight in real time: dodge, combo and unleash skills; Twine can be released at any point in battle |
| Shared energy bar |
The four Aniimo in a squad share a single energy bar, and skill usage is allocated on demand |
| Three command modes |
A summoned Aniimo can switch between attack, defense and capture modes |
| Nine elements |
Sacred, Fire, Ice, Dark, Electric, Grass, Water, Rock, Wind |
| Five roles |
DPS, Heal, Support, Break and Regen |
| Eight raising systems |
Base stats, Aptitude, Resonance, Potential, Skills, Traits, Held Items and Runes |
| Personality |
Sorted by MBTI type, tied to stat groups such as attack and break, or damage and crit rate; the impact on overall power is small |
| Talents |
The player-side point allocation system, gaining points as you level up; early on prioritize Gravity Mastery, Swift Board, Enhanced Twine and Capture Master |
World and Long-Term Play#
| Term |
Explanation |
| Homeland |
The system that assigns captured Aniimo to job posts to work, with output collected on regular return visits |
| Efficiency grade |
Every Aniimo has a different efficiency grade for the same post; Aniimo that “look weak” are often the best Homeland workers |
| Co-Op mode |
The multiplayer mode, where you can gift captured Aniimo to friends (subject to aptitude and form limits) |
| Egg Heist |
One of the official game modes, tied to four-player cooperative play |
| Glowstone |
The bonus reward for logging in on both platforms and binding your account after the mobile version launches |
| Journey with the Wind |
The name of Season 1, which opened when the mobile version launched on September 23 |
| Junior Wayfarer |
A promotion rank name listed on the official Traditional Chinese page, tied to open beta rewards |
| Polaris Institute |
The body that signs official update announcements |
| Bronze Badge |
The reward at 40% regional completion, granting a 10% capture-rate bonus in that region |
| Three command modes |
The umbrella term for the attack, defense and capture modes a summoned Aniimo can switch between |
| Regional and weather forms |
The form types individuals are divided into by habitat region and weather; the aptitude limit on Co-Op gifts is measured against these two form types |
| Iridescent Aniimo Egg |
The egg item category tied to Iridescent individuals; hatching Iridescent eggs pairs with the Sparkling Cube |
How to Use This Page#
- In-game display is the authority for naming — the community translations of some items and forms (such as “Ultra Cube” or “Sparkling Cube”) may differ from the official in-game names, so treat the English in parentheses in the tables above as the reference.
- This glossary only includes mechanics and terms that have been verified in-game; anything not confirmed inside the game is not listed.
- Numerical details (probabilities, multipliers, costs) are not listed here; the live game version is always the authority.
- Entries are grouped into tables by gameplay category, and cross-category related terms are fully expanded on their dedicated pages — every row can be traced back to the matching page in the section navigation (see section homepage).
