Heat System — Core Numbers#
The Heat System is the game’s signature offensive mechanic and can be activated once per round:
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Activation 1 | Heat Burst (default input R1; notation 2+3); lasts 10 seconds |
| Activation 2 | Heat Engager (activated when a character-specific move connects); lasts 15 seconds |
| Core benefit | Blocked attacks also deal recoverable damage (chip damage on gray health); some moves gain enhanced properties |
| Heat Smash | A high-damage blow that consumes all remaining Heat |
| Heat Dash | Ends the Heat state as soon as it is used |
| Chip ratio (from Season 2) | Blocked attacks during Heat deal chip equal to 20% of the move’s damage (previously 30%, lowered in patch 2.00.02) |
| Extra recovery | A Heat Engager that connects restores an additional 30 points of recoverable health |
Note: the Heat state grants no universal damage bonus. The official benefits are chip damage, enhanced move properties, and Heat-exclusive moves — ignore claims like “all damage increases once you enter Heat”.
Rage System — Core Numbers#
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Trigger | Activates automatically when health drops to a fixed threshold; there is no separate “rage gauge” |
| Threshold | Season 1: 43; Season 2: 47; Season 3 onward: 45 (roughly 22-25% of total health) |
| Total health | 180 per character at launch, raised to 200 from patch 2.00.02 |
| Damage bonus | Rage state increases all move damage by 10% (rounded down) |
| Chip reduction | Chip damage taken while blocking reduced by 70% (from Season 2) |
| Rage Art | Universal input df+1+2; bound to R2 by default in macros; usable below roughly 25% health |
Tekken 7’s Rage Drive has been removed; Rage Art is the only comeback tool available in the Rage state.
Single-Player Content#
Story Mode: The Dark Awakens#
The main story, The Dark Awakens, runs 15 chapters and centers on the confrontation between Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima; a full clear takes about 5-7 hours. Chapter 15 has two endings depending on the outcome of that final fight. The chapter-by-chapter breakdown and character alignments are covered in the story mode section, and the setting background in the lore section.
Character Episode#
Each of the 32 characters has a Character Episode with roughly 5 matches per episode. DLC characters also come with Character Episodes and customization items; Heihachi Mishima additionally includes an extra story chapter (Unforgettable Echoes).
Arcade Quest#
A single-player mode aimed at newcomers: you create a virtual avatar, start at Gong Arcade, and fight opponents across several virtual arcades as you grow. There is no verifiable public figure for the total number of arcades, so this site does not state one — check in game.

About Our Sourcing#
Every page in this section is written against public material verified in October 2026. Release information, mechanic numbers (health, Heat duration, Rage thresholds, chip ratios), DLC dates, the tier table, and system requirements all follow verifiable sources: the official site, the Steam store page, and community data sites. Anything not on record — such as the total number of arcades in Arcade Quest, full patch notes for each version, or per-character frame data — is explicitly marked as “not covered” or flagged as needing in-game verification rather than guessed at. If you spot something that contradicts the game itself, please report it through the feedback channel at the bottom of the page.
