Builds#

Builds are the core endgame activity of The First Berserker: Khazan. Stat allocation, skill picks, set choices and Phantoms together define your combat style. This page collects the verified mainstream build directions of the current version, with every set bonus listed at its exact value so you can plan allocation and farming routes against them.

Builds at a Glance#

Build Core stats Set Role
Spear · Moonlight Proficiency + Willpower Fallen Nobility Meta strength, clone-assisted damage
Dual Wield · Combo Willpower + Strength Fighting-spirit passives Bleed combos, fast rhythm
Greatsword · Charged Strength + Proficiency Phantom Knight’s Veil Charged heavies, huge single hits
Bard set Out of combat Bard The dedicated farming set for gold and materials
Deep Shadow set Out of combat Deep Shadow Defense-oriented, highest defense

The first three are combat builds for pushing the story; the Bard set and the Deep Shadow set solve “resource gain” and “survival insurance” respectively. Early on, don’t chase a finished build in one step — lock your weapon line first, then let the matching set and skills take shape around it.

Stat Allocation and Endurance Management#

Each weapon line scales differently — lock your weapon type before allocating:

Weapon type Core stats Allocation idea
Dual Wield Willpower + Strength Raise Willpower first, powering the combo and bleed systems
Greatsword Strength + Proficiency Strength primary, Proficiency to back up charged damage and accuracy
Spear Proficiency + Willpower Proficiency first, Willpower to fund stance skills and clones

Whichever weapon line you choose, Endurance is a stat you must invest in. Stamina management is the line between life and death in this game: attacks, dodges and blocks all share one stamina bar, and hitting empty locks you into a stagger the boss will punish with a lethal combo. When points are tight, cut a point from your main stat before letting Endurance fall behind.

Spear · Moonlight: The Meta Build#

The Moonlight build is the strongest setup in the current version, built around the Spear’s Moonlight stance. Core mechanic: finishing a combo triggers a clone that lasts 15 seconds and fights alongside you, output and pressure far beyond solo play.

Core Skills#

Name Role
Moonlight stance Core stance; finishing a combo triggers a 15-second clone
Phantom Heatwave Invincibility frames plus parry, answers heavy enemy offense
Zero Point The support skill that pairs with Moonlight stance

Three skills form the Moonlight skeleton: Moonlight handles routine damage, Phantom Heatwave is your invincible counter when a boss erupts, and Zero Point completes the loop. Max the Moonlight-related nodes first, then fill in the counter skill.

The Fallen Nobility Set Bonuses#

Pieces Effect
2 pieces Charged damage +10%
3 pieces Stamina recovery after edge dodge +25%
4 pieces Damage against exhausted state +10%
5 pieces Full Moon skill family damage +15%
6 pieces Spiral Thrust damage +15%

Completing six pieces is the Moonlight build’s graduation goal: both +15% boosts to the Full Moon family and Spiral Thrust fully online, combined with the Moonlight clone — top-tier damage in the current version. During the transitional phase, the 2-piece and 3-piece bonuses already pay off on any Spear build: charged damage and edge-dodge stamina recovery are universal.

How to Play It#

The Spear has reach, and the Moonlight rhythm is “combo pressure, finisher trigger, clone relay”. Pressure with normal combos to drain stamina, trigger the clone with the finisher and immediately open distance to let the clone take over the damage window while you line up Full Moon skills or Spiral Thrust. When the boss enters the exhausted state, the 4-piece bonus is your execute window.

Dual Wield · Combo Build#

Dual Wield scales Willpower plus Strength and revolves around high-frequency combos and bleed. The main damage kit: Gale and Gale Scar apply bleed, while the dash skill Outrage closes distance and controls the rhythm.

Component Role
Gale / Gale Scar Main combo, applies bleed DoT
Outrage Dash skill for engaging and repositioning
Fighting-spirit trio (Enduring, Indomitable, Berserk Spirit) The passive core of the fighting-spirit route

Dual Wield has two finished routes: one is straight bleed combos, stacking bleed fast with the Gale family while dashing in and out with Outrage; the other is the fighting-spirit route, combining Enduring, Indomitable and Berserk Spirit into a passive trio that converts fighting spirit into sustained damage. The former has a higher skill ceiling, the latter is steadier — pick by feel.

In play, Dual Wield’s survival logic is “don’t throw the last slash”: combo returns are high but greed is brutally punished in this game. Outrage’s movement is both an offensive and an escape tool — dashing in and out of range always beats tanking damage.

Greatsword · Charged Build#

The Greatsword runs Strength plus Proficiency, centered on charged heavy attacks. Skills build around “charge boosting — heavy release — AoE cleanup”:

Component Role
Savage Momentum The charged-loop passive, sustains charge gains
Manifest Power The charged-damage passive, raises heavy damage
Mortal Blow Single-target finisher, executes low-health targets
Bloodshed AoE skill, clears packs
Phantom Knight’s Veil Stamina-loop component, funds the stamina-hungry charged playstyle

The Greatsword hits enormous single hits but eats stamina — Phantom Knight’s Veil’s stamina loop is what makes or breaks this build: charging, releasing and disengaging all cost stamina, and only with the loop complete can the Greatsword keep a stable output rhythm.

How to play: stack charge gains with Savage Momentum and Manifest Power, open with heavies; use Bloodshed to clear packs, and in boss fights lean on charged heavies with Mortal Blow as the finisher. The Greatsword has a low error margin and huge single hits — it’s about when you swing, not how often.

The Bard Set: Gold and Materials Only#

The Bard set is pure farming gear — every piece bonus serves resource gain and none of it fights:

Pieces Effect
2 pieces Stamina recovery +80% while out of combat
3 pieces High-tier drops +20%
4 pieces Weapon drops +15%
5 pieces Lacrima gain +25%

Usage is simple: switch it on for dedicated gold and material runs and dodge normally; the 2-piece out-of-combat recovery means stamina is never a worry while mapping, and the 3/4/5-piece bonuses lift high-tier drops, weapon drops and Lacrima respectively — the first choice for banking resources before farming sets. Switch back to combat gear before hard bosses.

Defense and Set Farming#

The Deep Shadow Set: Highest Defense#

The first pick for defense is the Deep Shadow set — the highest defense numbers in the entire gear system. Players who haven’t learned a boss’s rhythms and keep getting one-shot can wear Deep Shadow as survival insurance, then swap to damage gear once the moves are familiar.

Side Bosses Drop Higher-Tier Sets#

When farming a specific set, prioritize side bosses: their exclusive variants (such as Xaldin) drop higher-level versions of the same-name set pieces. In other words, for equipment sharing one set name, the side-boss variant’s version has a higher level — farming side content directly saves you repeated replacement. When planning a farm route, first confirm which side boss drops your target set, then schedule from highest drop level downward.

Phantom Picks#

Phantoms are the game’s companion system; the selection logic:

Phantom Role
Keshta the Unyielding Passive buff
Atlant the Precise Passive buff

Phantoms like Keshta the Unyielding and Atlant the Precise work as passive buffs — pick one, equip it, and it stays permanently with no extra inputs. Also, main story boss fights come with a built-in Phantom summon, so don’t sweat Phantom setup before a boss room; spend the energy on your build and learning moves.

Respec and Switching Builds#

Allocated wrong? No panic: the Primeval Regression Orb resets your stat points. Skill trees are even more forgiving — resettable at any time, at nowhere near the cost of stat points.

That means build experimentation is cheap: unsure which weapon line suits you? Run a generic allocation while mapping, reset the skill tree whenever you like to switch archetypes; once your main direction is set, use the orb to place stat points precisely. Farming sets, switching builds, testing playstyles — none of it carries sunk cost.

FAQ#

Question Answer
What should beginners allocate first? Lock the weapon line first: Dual Wield takes Willpower plus Strength, Greatsword Strength plus Proficiency, Spear Proficiency plus Willpower; Endurance is mandatory on every build — stamina management is the line between life and death
Which build is strongest right now? The Spear Moonlight build — clone-assisted damage around the Moonlight stance, best with the full Fallen Nobility six pieces
Short on gold and materials? Swap to the Bard set and farm dedicated: 3-piece high-tier drops +20%, 4-piece weapon drops +15%, 5-piece Lacrima +25%, then switch back
Want a higher-level set? Farm side boss variants (such as Xaldin) that drop higher-level same-name set pieces
Can I fix wrong allocation? Stat points reset via the Primeval Regression Orb; skill trees reset anytime — experimentation is cheap
