Forza Horizon 5 Guide#
Forza Horizon 5 is an open-world racing game developed by Playground Games and published by Xbox Game Studios, released on November 9, 2021 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. It is set in Mexico and features the largest and most diverse map in the series, spanning six distinct biomes — jungle, desert, canyon, farmland, coast, and city. It keeps the series’ signature free-roaming, festival atmosphere while adding a new weather system, dynamic seasons, and deep car customization.
This guide covers the full road from beginner to expert: getting started, the car gallery, race events, exploring the world, tuning, collectibles, multiplayer, the skill system, and endgame content.

Game Features#
Open-World Racing#
The map is roughly 1.5 times the size of Forza Horizon 4’s, with more than 500 collectible cars. You can roam Mexico freely — from snow-capped volcano craters to tropical rainforest, from ancient Maya ruins to busy city streets, every terrain drives differently. The dynamic season system transforms the same region over time: deserts bake in the dry season, then temporary rivers and mud pits form in the wet one.
The soul of the series is the Horizon Festival. Every entry is built around a grand car festival, where the player grows from an ordinary participant into a festival legend. In Forza Horizon 5, you arrive in Mexico through a spectacular tropical-storm opening — one of the most memorable intros in the series. As you progress, you can set up multiple festival outposts across Mexico, each unlocking new event types and activities.
Cars and Culture#
From the classic 1953 Chevrolet Corvette to the newest electric hypercars, the game collects a century of the car industry’s best. It goes beyond the machines themselves into the culture around them — Lowrider style, off-road builds, JDM styling, drift culture, and more. The livery editor lets you create your own paint jobs or download other players’ work; community creations turn every car into a one-of-a-kind artwork.

Pro Tips#
| # |
Tip |
Why it matters |

| 2 |
Make the most of blueprints |
custom event blueprints are the most efficient way to grind influence, CR, and car XP |
| 3 |

the same car with the same parts is 5-10% faster per lap on a good tune — worth the time |
| 4 |
Buy low, sell high on the Auction House |
pick up seasonal exclusives cheap while they are available, then sell once they become unobtainable |
| 5 |
License plates are an investment |
some rare plates can only be obtained in specific ways and have sold for up to 20M CR at auction |
| 6 |
Photo mode pays |
sharing photos to the community each week earns Forzathon Points |
