Full Walkthrough#

This page is the main-story walkthrough for WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers. First, a correction of a basic error: older guides’ “seven-chapter complete story” is wrong — the game’s main story has 5 chapters (per game8 and gmtreks). Chapter names are given in their verified English originals with provisional translations noted. One honest disclosure: per-chapter step-by-step routes and collectible spots have not yet been fully verified by this site, so this page provides the verified chapter structure, boss assignments and universal progression guidance — specific route details defer to the game itself.

1. Run Overview Table#

Playtime reference (HowLongToBeat): main story about 31.5 hours, main + sides about 37.5 hours, completionist about 49.5 hours.

2. Prologue: The Attack and the Amnesia#

In the story, protagonist Bai Su traveled to Shu in search of “Red Mercury” to save her sister Bai Yu, and on the way was attacked by the man-eating monster Lu Hongliu, contracting the Feathering disease and losing her memory — where the game opens. Lu Hongliu corresponds to the boss achievement Lu Hongliu in the achievement list.

This stretch is the causal root of the entire plot: the amnesia and the Feathering share the same source — that attack. The opening fight’s handling goes by your in-game experience.

Progression Guidance#

  1. Light every shrine along the main road: Shrines are the game’s checkpoint-style facilities; touch each one — it protects your progress and feeds the Radiant Faith collectible achievement simultaneously;
  2. Weave exploration between regions: Chapter 1 has many areas (8 verified names above), and side paths tend to carry collectibles — prioritize interacting with door features (Blessing Doors / Riddle Doors) whenever seen;
  3. Rest before boss fights: confirm your main weapon’s skill loop is familiar, your spell slots carry utility spells, and recovery consumables are stocked;
  4. Use the difficulty options when stuck: the 1.7 patch added difficulty options — no need to brute-force.

4. Chapter 2: Cloudspire#

Region names for Chapter 2 are not yet individually verified. These verified points are enough to steer by:

  • The chapter continues soulslike vertical exploration — watch for high routes and forks;
  • Combat resources (Red Mercury) accumulate naturally as you push; deliberate grinding is rarely needed;
  • When special Inner Demon enemies appear, mind the encounter — defeating 6 Inner Demons is the condition for the Quelling Madness achievement.

5. Chapter 3: Mt. Zhenwu#

Chapter 3 is set on Mount Zhenwu. The per-region lists for this chapter and beyond will be added after dedicated verification. Universal guidance:

  • Keep using the main build that formed last chapter; respec is lenient (per media reviews), so build experimentation costs very little;
  • Universal boss-fight principles live on Boss List & Preparation: read moves, save resources for phase transitions, and choose between parry and dodge per attack.

6. Chapter 4: Worship’s Rise in Ruins#

Chapter 4 returns to Worship’s Rise in its ruined form — the chapter name itself signals the spatial loop design. Verified related information:

  • The game’s story and boss list are heavily bound to historical figures: bosses such as Zhang Xianzhong (Fierce Tiger / Sovereign - Zhang Xianzhong) appear late in the run; exact chapter assignment follows your in-game progress;
  • Side characters (Fang Yao, He Youzai, the White-Robed Elder, the Red-Clad Lady) drive side-quest progress that shapes the ending — see the Multi-Ending Guide.

7. Chapter 5: Bo Capital#

The final chapter, Bo Capital, leads to every ending. Verified endgame elements:

Element Detail
Gate of Truth One of the endgame nodes; choosing “Enter the Realm of Dreams” earns the true ending, Dream’s Sweet Deceit
Endgame choice The ending is decided by side-quest completion and who receives the key items
Achievements Each of the 4 endings maps to one achievement

Pre-endgame checklist: confirm side-quest states → confirm key-item deliveries → back up your save → make the endgame choice. Post-node endings and recovery options are covered in the Multi-Ending Guide.

8. Universal Progression Tips#

Tip Detail
Shrines first Light every shrine you see — checkpoints and an achievement source in one
Don’t skip forks The game’s verticality and branching lean soulslike; collectibles and shortcuts sit off the main road
Settle your main weapon early Trial all five weapon types within Chapter 1, then concentrate investment around your main
Respec boldly Per media reviews, respec is extremely lenient — rebuilding your build is a valid answer when stuck
Save consumables for hard fights Recovery items belong to boss fights and Inner Demon encounters
Pace expectations A 31.5-hour main story means steady progress is fine — no need to rush

9. On Content Not Carried Over#

The following items from older versions were verified as fabricated and have been removed entirely:

  • The “seven-chapter complete story” and “Chapter 7: Final Choice” — the main story is 5 chapters;
  • Chapter/region names such as “Broken Mountain Village,” “Misty Bamboo Forest,” “Ancient City Ruins,” “Training Ground and Ruins,” “Underground Courtyard,” “Snow Mountain Ape Cave,” “Cloudtop Ruins” — all fabricated;
  • Boss names such as “Corrupted Villager Chief,” “Bamboo Forest Mist Demon,” “Faceless of the Ancient Tower” — all fabricated; real bosses live on the boss page;
  • The “Three Doors / ending branches / The End” node table — endgame nodes defer to verified elements like the Gate of Truth;
  • All “recommended level 1-2 / 4-5” figures — no verifiable source.

Per-chapter region and boss lists will be added after dedicated verification.
