Spectral Cards#

Risk Tiers and Usage Advice#

Spectral card Risk Advice
The Soul None Always take it — Legendary Jokers are irreplaceable
Black Hole None Never a loss at any point — the payoff is clearer in the mid to late game
Deja Vu Very low Red Seals on Steel/Glass cards are a build-defining change
Trance Very low A Blue Seal held in hand = a steady Planet card every round
Medium Very low Purple Seals suit discard builds — fuel for the Tarot engine
Aura Very low All three Editions are buffs — Polychrome has the highest expected value
Talisman Very low Gold Seals on frequently scored cards
Cryptid Low Copy your key cards — Steel King builds and Flush builds both love it
Sigil Medium A gamble for Flush builds — the suit is random, so be ready to adapt
Familiar / Grim / Incantation Medium They destroy random cards — use with care when deck quality is high
Immolate Medium $20 to top up your cash — but don’t blow up Steel or Glass cards
Ouija High -1 hand size is a permanent loss — only worth it for all-Kings Baron builds
Ectoplasm High Negative edition on a random Joker — slot expansion as a gamble
Wraith High Money to $0 for a Rare Joker — actually good value when you’re broke
Ankh Extreme Use only when one core Joker remains — sell the others first for a 100% copy
Hex Extreme Same logic as Ankh — clear the board before gambling on Polychrome

Key Combos#

Combo Details
Deja Vu + Steel Steel cards in hand give ×1.5, and the Red Seal retrigger makes it ×2.25 — the source of the five-Steel-King Baron ceiling
Deja Vu + Glass ×2 × 2 = ×4 each — high-variance burst
Ankh + Blueprint Ankh copying Blueprint also copies its effect — copy your core first, then Ankh for a double
The Soul + builds Each of the five Legendaries anchors an archetype: Triboulet for face cards, Baron for Steel Kings, Chicot for Boss immunity
Hex + Campfire Polychrome gives ×1.5 — pairs with Campfire’s sell-based Mult growth to snowball

How to Obtain Them#

Source Details
Spectral Packs Bought in the shop or granted as a Tag reward for skipping a Blind
Shop single cards On the Ghost Deck, Spectral cards can appear individually in the shop (it starts with a Hex)
Tarot/Celestial Packs “The Soul” can appear in Arcana Packs and “Black Hole” in Celestial Packs — about 0.3% per card
Joker generation Jokers such as “Sixth Sense” (discard a single 6 on your first hand to create one) and “Séance” (play a Straight Flush to create one)
Blue / Purple Seals Indirectly produce Planet and Tarot cards — not Spectral cards directly

FAQ#

Question Answer
When should I use Ankh? When you have only one core multiplicative Joker. Sell the rest first so the copy is guaranteed to hit the core
Is Ouija’s -1 hand size worth it? Worth it for all-Kings Baron builds — for most other builds, probably not
Will Immolate destroy Steel cards? Yes — it destroys 5 random cards in hand, so be careful when your deck holds Steel or Glass cards
Can a card hold multiple Seals? No — one Seal per card, but Seal + Enhancement + Edition can coexist
What does Black Hole upgrade? +1 level to every hand type, including hidden hand types you haven’t played yet — insurance against The Eye Boss

Are Spectral Packs Worth Buying#

Situation Advice
Early (Ante 1-3) Usually skip — money goes to Jokers first, and early deck quality can’t absorb Spectral destruction costs
Mid (Ante 4-6) Buy once your build direction is set — Deja Vu / Trance / Aura strengthen key cards at zero risk
Late (Ante 7+) Highest priority — Cryptid copies Steel Kings, The Soul adds Legendaries, Black Hole is +1 to all hand types
Baron builds Always buy Ouija and Cryptid — the former converts everything to Kings, the latter copies Steel Kings

Deck and Spectral Synergies#

Deck Synergy
Ghost Deck Spectral cards enter the shop — the most reliable source of Spectral cards in the whole game
Magic Deck Starts with The Fool for copying Tarot cards — weak Spectral synergy, but fast deck conversion
Checkered Deck Sigil / Ouija suit and rank rewrites pay off the most on a two-suit base
Plasma Deck The Glass + Deja Vu burst build still benefits from Mult scaling under balanced scoring

Spectral vs Tarot / Planet Priorities#

Spectral cards share the same consumable slots — when slots are tight, use these priorities: before your core build is online, Tarot (deck conversion) > Spectral (single-card enhancement); once it’s online, Spectral > Tarot. Planet cards serve hand levels independently and don’t conflict with Spectral. The three Seal cards Talisman / Trance / Medium (Gold / Blue / Purple) are the hub linking the three consumable families — put a Blue Seal on a Steel card you keep in hand, and you get one extra Planet card every round
