Region Completion and Catch Rate Bonus#
Aniimo hides one of its best long-term investments behind a single number: region completion. Push a region to 40% completion and you earn a Bronze Badge that grants a flat 10% catch rate bonus inside that region — one investment, permanent effect. For any Linker aiming to finish the Aniilog, this is the highest value early-game action in the whole game. This page explains exactly how completion works, how to plan a sweep route, and how to use regional species distribution to your advantage.
How Region Completion Works: 40% for 10%#
The verified rule chain:
- Every region has its own species distribution and its own completion progress;
- Region completion reaches 40% → you earn the Bronze Badge;
- Bronze Badge effect: a flat 10% catch rate bonus in that region;
- The bonus is one investment, permanent effect — it never decays over time and never needs renewing.
It is worth running the numbers on what that actually means. A flat 10% catch rate bonus across a region is a global gain for everyday catching: every common species you sweep, every cube you spend camping a rare spawn, every throw you make in Rainbow weather is riding that 10%. You can read it as “every catch in this region starts at a permanent discount” (whether the bonus is additive or multiplicative is unverified — defer to the in-game tooltip, but the direction is unambiguously positive).
Sweep Common Species First: The Standard Opening for a New Region#
The standard community play for a new region is: sweep the common species first.
The reasoning is direct:
- Common species spawn often and cluster densely, so they are the fastest material for pushing completion — common species are the cheapest way to clear the 40% threshold;
- Once you hit 40%, the 10% bonus applies immediately, so every later rare target starts from a higher success rate;
- Reverse the order (camp the rare first) and you are throwing cubes at an unboosted catch rate — the loss when a rare target flees far outweighs the half hour spent sweeping first.
In other words, completion is the “infrastructure” of catching efficiency: build the roads before you run the trucks.
Regional Species Distribution: Filtering the Aniilog by Region#
Sweeping needs targets, and the tool for that is the Aniilog’s filter by region:
- Open the Aniilog and switch to the region filter — review the species list for the current region;
- Compare registered against unregistered — the missing species are your sweep list for this region;
- Flag the abilities you need — if the list contains Twine exploration Aniimo (climb, swim, glide), register those first; see Twine Forms and Exploration for the exploration side;
- Head out and catch — sweep by the list, not by mood.
The Aniilog also supports filtering by element, role, and stage — stack an element filter on top of the region filter and you can lock onto compound targets like “which Fire Aniimo am I still missing in this region” in seconds.
The Standard Sweep Route Loop#
A high-efficiency new-region route looks like this:
- Filter on entry — use the Aniilog region filter, pull the region’s species list, and confirm your Twine exploration ability gaps (see Twine Forms and Exploration);
- Sweep common species along the way — clear the common species on your target list as you move, and completion climbs fast;
- Learn the region layout — note the terrain obstacle types (cliffs, water, high ground) and mark the ability Aniimo each one needs;
- Push to 40% — clearing common species usually lands you near the threshold; hunt down whatever is still missing;
- Claim the Bronze Badge — once completion qualifies, claim the badge and confirm the 10% bonus is live;
- Then hunt rares — with the bonus in hand, start working the region’s rare targets and boss spawns.
Pairing Completion With Rare Hunts#
Region completion is not an isolated system; it ties into rare hunting on two levels:
- The catch rate bonus applies to every catch — throws at rare targets benefit from the same 10%, so checking the badge status of your region before a rare hunt is free preparation;
- It stacks with multiplicative tools — back-attacks, sleep, and zeroing the break gauge stack together (see Capture Mechanics Explained), and the completion bonus lands on the final success rate — completion bonus plus three stacked tools is why an ordinary cube can still produce a respectable success rate.
One reverse reminder: when you camp a rare target across regions, if that region is still unswept, spend half an hour pushing it to 40% before you throw — that time pays back far better than brute-forcing the encounter.
Completion and Aniilog: Two Progress Tracks#
Sweeping for completion and filling the Aniilog are two ledgers on the same trip:
- Aniilog side — the Aniilog registers all 86 Aniimo, filterable by element, role, stage, and region; the regional list is the candidate pool for completion;
- Completion side — region completion is calculated from registration progress on the species inside that region; the exact counting rules follow the in-game display;
- One stone, three birds — every catch made off the regional list advances Aniilog registration, research level (Shiny odds), and completion (catch rate bonus) at the same time, which is why the “sweep first” strategy compounds hardest.
Once those links are clear, sweeping stops feeling like busywork: every gap you fill pays out across three systems at once.
Progress Management Tips#
- New region priority: every time you unlock a region, sweeping it to 40% is second only to main story progress — it is the foundation for everything you catch there afterward;
- Backfill older regions: go back and finish regions you rushed early — the bonus is permanent, so late is never a loss, but early is more benefit;
- Seasonal lists: weather and day/night cycles affect spawns (see Weather, Day/Night and Rare Spawns); if a gap in completion is time-limited, fill it in the right window and weather instead of camping blindly.
FAQ#
Q: Are there rewards past 40% completion? A: The verified reward node is 40% for the Bronze Badge and the 10% catch rate bonus. Whether higher completion tiers grant extra rewards is unverified — defer to the in-game display. Even sweeping purely for the 40% node is a clear positive return.
Q: Does completion count pre-evolution or post-evolution species? A: The Aniilog filters by stage (across all 86 registered Aniimo), but the exact counting rules for completion follow the in-game display — while sweeping, just target the gaps shown on the Aniilog’s regional list; the game marks them for you.
Q: Does the bonus matter for boss-tier targets? A: No — boss-tier targets cannot be caught at all, and the screen tells you so when you raise a cube. The bonus pays out on everything that can be caught.
Q: Do bonuses from multiple regions stack? A: The bonus applies per region — you get the badge effect of whichever region you are catching in, and it does not carry across regions. Sweeping every region you farm to 40% is effectively a map-wide gain; see “The Standard Sweep Route Loop” above for the route.
Summary#
The entire action plan for region completion is one sentence: enter a new region, sweep the common species first, push to 40%, claim the badge, and only then talk about rares. The permanent 10% catch rate bonus is a free global gain, and combined with back-attacks, sleep, and gauge-breaking, it raises the success rate of your whole capture system from the foundation up. Every bit of completion progress flows into the same ledger in the end — the long road to registering all 86 Aniimo starts with 40% in each region.
