Price and Buying Guide#

Black Myth: Wukong is a single-player, one-time-purchase game developed and published by Game Science, with no in-game purchases. It launched worldwide on 2024-08-20, covering three PC stores at release: Steam, Epic and WeGame, plus PS5, and the Xbox Series X|S version went live on 2025-08-20. This page collects the current prices of each edition on each platform, edition differences, all-time lows and the discount timeline, and gives buying advice. All prices are as of 2026-10-15 and subject to live store prices.

How Much Is Black Myth: Wukong Now?#

As of 2026-10-15, the Steam China region lists the Standard Edition at 268 yuan and the Deluxe Edition at 328 yuan; the US and EU regions are both 59.99 US dollars / euros, and the August 30%-off windows have all ended.

Three notes on methodology: first, the specific currency list prices of the Xbox Store in each region could not be verified one by one; all that can be confirmed is that it shares the same price system as PC and PS5 and took part in the 30% off at the China region 187.60 yuan tier during the August window. Second, the August promotion ended on the official schedule, and no new round of discounting has been found since; whether the China region is still at list price now is subject to the live store page. Third, this is a pure one-time-purchase title: as of the verification date, the only paid items in the store are the game itself and the Deluxe Upgrade Pack, and the official FAQ only says it does not rule out releasing story DLC and non-stat in-game purchases in the future.

What Is the All-Time Low? Discount Timeline Overview#

The China region all-time low is 187.60 yuan for the Standard Edition and 229.60 yuan for the Deluxe Edition, both from the platform-wide 30% off on 2026-08-12; the PS5 US all-time low of 41.99 US dollars is from the same day.

Two patterns emerge from the three discounts: the first discount came about ten months after release (released 2024-08-20, first price cut in 2025-06), and since then there has been roughly one window every six months, each one deeper than the last: 20% off, 25% off, 30% off, with 30% off being the current official all-time low line.

How Much Cheaper Are Third-Party Key Channels?#

The above are third-party key channel low prices recorded by the comparison sites IsThereAnyDeal and GG.deals. Their relative discount is deeper than the official all-time low of the 187.60 yuan tier, but these are retailer promotions that are unstable and irregular. To decide whether to use such channels, follow three steps: first confirm which platform the key activates on, Steam, Epic or WeGame, matching the three stores this game released on; then check whether the activation region terms apply to your account; finally, prefer merchants that support refunds and proof of purchase. The official direct purchase channels remain the three PC stores Steam, Epic and WeGame, plus the console stores. The above is a general verification method for third-party channels; the specifics are subject to each merchant’s page and the official release notes.

What Is the Difference Between the Standard and Deluxe Editions?#

The two differ by 60 yuan: the Deluxe Edition adds an exclusive weapon, the Bronze Cloud Staff, the Baixi Set, the Wind Bell curio and a selected music collection, all cosmetic and collector-oriented content.

Three things worth remembering about the edition differences:

• All Deluxe Edition content is claimed in-game at a Shrine through “Gifts”; there is no extra activation process;
• The pre-order bonus Red Gourd ended with the pre-order period, but it can also be obtained through normal play after the pre-order period, so do not spend extra money on it needlessly;
• The Deluxe Edition has no stat-boosting content, so when weighing the price difference, just judge by “am I willing to pay for cosmetics and the music collection.”

How Much Do the PS5 and Xbox Console Versions Cost?#

PS5 US is 59.99 US dollars, and the HK store Standard Edition is 298 HK dollars; the Xbox version shares the same price system as PC and PS5 and took part in the same platform-wide 30% off in August 2026.

Three pieces of purchasing information for the console versions:

• The Xbox Series X|S version was announced on 2025-06-06 and went live worldwide on 2025-08-20; the China region Xbox Store officially listed this game in August 2026, roughly the same period as the 30% off window, so China region players can buy it directly in their local store;
• The PS5 version download size is 99.8 GB, and installing it is recommended to reserve about 104 GB of space, so clear your storage before buying;
• There is no Switch version of this game, and no Switch plans have been confirmed officially; “launching alongside Switch 2” is only an unconfirmed rumor, so do not put your purchase plans on hold waiting for a handheld version.

Any Records of Free Giveaways, Free Weekends or Game Pass?#

As of 2026-10-15, no record has been found of this game entering a free giveaway, free weekend or Game Pass; the PS Plus Trial (trial play) tag on the US store page does not mean a free giveaway.

• “Waiting for a giveaway” has no historical basis for this game: in the more than two years since release it has never been part of PlayStation Plus monthly free games, nor has it had a Steam free weekend;
• PS Plus Trial is a trial access tag in the US store that lets members play for a limited time, which is not the same thing as “free for members to keep,” so do not confuse the two;
• This game is a pure one-time-purchase single-player title with no subscription library record, so the only way to experience it is to buy the base game; earlier claims about “joining XGP” have no official or authoritative source supporting them.

How Much Is the Story DLC?#

There is no story DLC to buy: the official announcement on 2025-08-20 (Gamescom, the first anniversary) stated that development of the Wukong DLC has been paused in favor of Black Myth: Zhong Kui; the 60 yuan paid item in the store is the Deluxe Upgrade Pack, not an expansion.

Three practical conclusions follow: all rumors about “DLC pricing and release windows” are officially unconfirmed and several have been debunked, so treat any leak with specific prices or dates as false at first; players who already own the Standard Edition can simply use the 60 yuan upgrade pack to get the Deluxe content, without waiting for a nonexistent “DLC bundle”; and if you are only interested in the follow-up Black Myth: Zhong Kui, there is likewise no pricing or release date information available at present.

Buy Now or Wait for a Discount?#

If you are budget-sensitive, wait for the next official promotion, since there is precedent of discounts stepping from 20% off to 30% off; if your budget is sufficient and you want to play right away, buy at list price directly, and the Standard Edition is enough in terms of edition choice.

In a Hurry to Play: Three Reasons to Buy Directly#

• This is a well-paced one-time-purchase single-player game: one payment, no in-game purchases, buy early and play early, and the chance of the price ever going up is extremely low;
• The experience you get now is far more stable than at launch: issues such as shader compilation crashes and AMD driver crashes in the prologue that clustered on launch day in August 2024 were launch-period phenomena, and official fixes were given the same day; since then, 1.0.16 integrated new super sampling, the NVIDIA 576.28 driver fixed Transformation crashes on the RTX 50 series, and the 1.0.21 patch in January 2026 fixed a batch of issues including super sampling anomalies, Spirit crashes, travel map tearing and controller setting saving;
• Outside the three official promotion windows, the list price of 268 yuan is the entry price; if you accept it, just buy it, and there is no need to keep comparing prices.

Want to Save Money: The Basis for Waiting for the Next Sale#

• Historical rhythm: the first discount came about ten months after release, and roughly every six months since; the most recent was the 30% off all-time low in August 2026, and as of 2026-10-15 there is no official news of a new round of discounts;
• Price anchor: the official all-time low is 187.60 yuan at 30% off (Standard Edition), and lower prices only appear on third-party channels, so when waiting for an official sale you can use 187.60 yuan as the reference point;
• No promotion schedule has been announced officially; the rhythm above is only historical observation, and the specific time and depth of the next discount are subject to official store announcements, so just watch windows with precedent such as the Spring Festival period.

Which Edition Should You Buy?#

• Only want the base game experience: Steam China Standard Edition at 268 yuan; everything the Deluxe Edition adds is cosmetics and the music collection, so you lose nothing in stats;
• Already own the Standard Edition and want the extra content: the China region Deluxe Upgrade Pack is 60 yuan (30% off to 42 yuan during the August window), and you claim the Bronze Cloud Staff, Baixi Set and Wind Bell at the Shrine “Gifts”;
• Console players: buy in the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store for your region; PS5 US players can wait for the 41.99 US dollars all-time low to return;
• Chasing the lowest price and not minding third-party channels: you can refer to the 37.99 US dollars tier recorded by comparison sites, but be sure to first verify the activation platform and region terms using the three steps above.

As of 2026-10-15, the prices and discount records above are subject to the live store pages; if a new round of discounts or edition changes appears later, official announcements are the final word.
