Event Guide#
Since the release of Avatar Legends, the operations team has built a solid slate of long-term content: seasonal character updates, weekly rotating limited-time bending challenges, frequent double XP weekends, and themed events tied to holidays — there is something to do almost every weekend. This article gathers every confirmed current and upcoming event into tables covering timing, how to join, rewards and efficient farming routes, so you never miss a chance at a limited reward.
Event System Overview#
One concept to nail down first: “events” in the game fall into two major categories — recurring events (on a fixed rotation each season) and limited-time events (short-term content tied to character launches or holidays). Both types share one reward structure, but their entry requirements and refresh frequency are completely different.
| Event Type | Frequency | Examples | Reward Traits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Season update | About once every 3 months | New character launch, rank reset | Season pass exclusive cosmetics |
| Limited-time bending challenge | Rotates weekly | Flame Master Trial, Ice Expedition | Limited badges, avatar frames |
| Double XP weekend | 2-3 times a month | Double coins, double proficiency | Faster levelling, coin bonus |
| Holiday event | Specific dates | Spring Festival, Summer Solstice, Halloween | Limited skins, outfit vouchers |
Season Mechanics in Detail#
Understanding seasons is the prerequisite for making the most of every event, because the vast majority of limited rewards hang off the season structure.
Season Cycle#
- A season lasts about 3 months, with 4 seasons planned per year
- Each season contains: 1 new character, 1 season pass, 3 rounds of limited-time bending challenges, 2 double XP weekends
- At season settlement, season badges and rank-exclusive cosmetics are issued based on ranked tier (see the tier table on the multiplayer page)
Season Pass (Bending Pass)#
| Content | Details |
|---|---|
| Free track | 30 levels, with coins, outfit shards and avatar frames |
| Premium track | 60 levels, with limited skins, season badges and character trial vouchers |
| Premium Plus track | Everything on the Premium track plus 3-day early unlock of the new character |
| Pricing | Free: 0 / Premium: about 750 coins equivalent / Premium Plus: about 1,200 coins equivalent |
- Sources of pass XP: 300 points for the daily first win, 800 points for weekly missions, 50 points per ranked match, 200 points for spectator missions
- Pass farming is most efficient during weekend double XP, so plan ahead and do not waste the bonus window
- Pass levels are only valid for the current season; progress is wiped when the season ends, so remember to finish it on schedule
Rank Reset Rules#
- At the end of a season, ranked tiers are adjusted down by 1-2 minor divisions, and the Avatar Master tier resets to Earth Master
- Season points are not wiped; accumulated points are used to exchange for limited goods in the “Avatar Season Shop”
- Each season’s shop stock differs, and if you miss it you can only wait for a rerun
New Season Character Launches#
New characters are the centrepiece of every season. The developers usually announce them two weeks in advance, and launch day comes with a dedicated event.
Confirmed Seasonal Character Launch Schedule#
| Season | Character | Element | Release Date | Accompanying Event |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Season 1 “Avatar Awakening” | Kuvira | Earth | 30 July 2026 | Kuvira-themed challenge + trial week |
| Season 2 “Elemental Convergence” | Sokka | Water | Late October 2026 | Sokka trial + Water element boost week |
| Season 3 “Moon and Tide” | Yue | Fire | Mid-January 2027 | Yue story missions + Fire element theme |
| Season 4 “Eye of the Storm” | To be announced | To be determined | April 2027 | To be announced |
Schedule for the Character Launch Week#
- Trial week: the new character can be tried for free for 7 days after launch, in all modes except ranked
- Character story missions: finishing the dedicated story chapter permanently unlocks the new character, no pass required
- Element boost week: skill cooldowns for all characters of the new character’s element are reduced by 10%, encouraging players to try them
- Themed badge: win 10 matches with the new character to claim a limited badge
A Fast Route to Maxing a New Character#
- Day one: finish the character story missions (about 1 hour) to get the character itself plus starting proficiency
- Day two: while the element boost week is running, play 10 casual matches to eat the full proficiency bonus
- Day three: enter ranked trials and win 5 matches with the new character for the exclusive badge
- Once that is done, top up your pass XP and the new character’s proficiency will be fully maxed out
Limited-Time Bending Challenges#
Limited-time bending challenges are the core weekly rotating activity. There is almost no dead time across the year, and they are the main source of coins and limited rewards.
Challenge Types and Rules#
| Challenge Name | Rule | Difficulty | Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flame Master Trial | Fire-element characters only, clear 5 stages | Medium | Fire-series limited badge |
| Ice Expedition | Water-element characters, clear the challenge tower against the clock | High | Water-series outfit shards x10 |
| Earth Trial | Earth-element characters, 10 consecutive battles | Low | Earth-series coin bonus voucher |
| Air Trial | Air-element characters, clear 3 stages without taking damage | Extreme | Air-series limited avatar frame |
| Element Rotation | Win 1 match with each of the four elements | Medium | Universal outfit voucher x1 |
Weekly Challenge Refresh Mechanics#
- Refreshes every Monday at 8:00 (Beijing Time), with 2 challenges active at a time
- Each challenge lasts 7 days and is replaced by a new one when it expires
- Challenge progress accumulates across the whole season, and the final rewards of some high-difficulty challenges take multiple weeks
- Quitting a challenge partway does not cost an attempt, so you can try high-difficulty content freely
Efficient Farming Advice#
- Clear your attempts on low-difficulty challenges first, then use what energy is left to attack the hard ones
- For the Flame Master Trial, Zuko or Azula are recommended; fire characters get extra bonuses in this kind of challenge
- When you hit a wall on a high-difficulty challenge, drill that character’s standard combos in training mode before going back in
- Challenge rewards have a pity system: complete the same challenge three weeks in a row and a limited outfit is guaranteed to drop
Double XP Weekends#
Double XP weekends are the best window for levelling and farming resources. The developers schedule 2-3 per month, usually right after a major event or a new character launch.
Types of Double Events#
| Event | What Is Boosted | Trigger Time |
|---|---|---|
| Double coin weekend | Coin earnings from all modes x2 | First full weekend of each month |
| Double proficiency weekend | Character proficiency earnings x2 | Second full weekend of each month |
| Double pass weekend | Pass XP earnings x2 | First weekend of a new season |
| Double material weekend | Outfit shard and material earnings x2 | During major holiday periods |
How to Plan Your Weekend#
A double weekend is only 48 hours long — do not waste it on one casual match after another. Play in this order of priority:
- Pass XP first: during a double pass weekend, do the weekly missions; one afternoon can cover a week of progress
- Proficiency second: during a double proficiency weekend, max out your main characters’ proficiency to unlock all their exclusive cosmetics
- Coins last: during a double coin weekend, play ranked; the fixed coin payout per ranked match benefits most from the bonus
Stacking Tricks#
- During a double coin weekend, add the daily first-win bonus and a single match can pay 4 times the usual coins
- During a double pass weekend, combine it with spectator missions: spectate first, then play ranked, to max out the XP
- During a double material weekend, do not farm low-difficulty challenges; the material drop rate of high-difficulty challenges is already 3 times that of low ones
Holiday Events#
Holiday events are the most rewarding content in the game. There are 6 fixed holidays per year, each lasting 1-2 weeks.
Full-Year Holiday Event Table#
| Holiday | Timing | Theme | Core Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spring Festival | Lunar New Year’s Eve to the 7th day of the first lunar month | Dragon Year Bending Celebration | Spring Festival limited skin, red envelope outfit vouchers |
| Summer Solstice Celebration | Around 21 June | Fire element carnival | Flame-themed avatar frame, Flame Dance emote |
| Halloween | Last week of October | Shadow Moon event | Ghost-themed skin, pumpkin emote |
| Winter Festival | Late December | Frost Celebration | Ice and snow themed skin, snowflake outfit vouchers |
| Spring Festival Return | February | Reruns of rewards from past seasons | Reissues of previously limited outfits |
| Anniversary | Late July | First anniversary celebration | All-character trial, collection of double events |
Spring Festival Event in Detail (Example)#
- Log in during the event to receive 10 “red envelopes” immediately, then 5 more each day for completing daily missions
- Red envelopes can yield coins, outfit vouchers and limited badge shards; collect the shards to exchange for the Spring Festival limited skin
- A new “New Year’s Eve Brawl” mode is added during the event: a 4-player free-for-all with random ultimates, purely for fun
- The Spring Festival limited skin is only sold during the event; miss it and you wait a year, so it is worth stockpiling outfit vouchers in advance
General Rules for Holiday Events#
- All holiday events are free to join, with no extra payment required
- The holiday shop uses a separate currency (red envelopes, snowflakes, and so on) that is cleared when the event ends — remember to spend it
- Holiday-limited cosmetics are purely visual and do not affect balance
- Holiday events usually come with 1 double material weekend, which material farmers should not skip
Event Reward Overview#
Here is a summary of the rewards available in the game by type, so you can plan your own goals:
Cosmetic Rewards#
| Reward | How to Obtain | Rarity |
|---|---|---|
| Limited skin | Holiday shop exchange / Premium pass track | Extremely high |
| Outfit shards | Weekly challenges, double material weekends | Common |
| Universal outfit voucher | Element Rotation challenge, Season Shop | High |
| Avatar frame | Limited-time challenges, season settlement | High |
| Emote | Holiday events, challenge rewards | Medium |
Resource Rewards#
| Reward | How to Obtain | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Coins | Match results, daily first win | Pass, shop purchases |
| Season points | Ranked matches, weekly missions | Season Shop exchange |
| Proficiency | Matches, proficiency weekends | Unlocking exclusive cosmetics |
| Outfit shards | Challenges, material weekends | Crafting limited outfits |
Reward Priority Advice#
- Cosmetics collectors: prioritise holiday-limited skins, then the season skin on the Premium pass track
- Ranked players: prioritise season points for Season Shop goods; tier badges are a status symbol
- Completionists: clear the badges and avatar frames from limited-time challenges first, since these are gone for good once they expire
- Free-to-play: the 30-level free track plus holiday events and weekly challenges still gets you most of the cosmetics
How to Join and When to Plan#
Event Entry Points#
- Enter the event page from the “Event Center” button on the main screen to see every event that is running or about to start
- Every event displays a countdown, and clicking through shows the detailed rules and reward list
- You can set “event reminders” so the game notifies you before an event begins, preventing you from missing a double weekend
Weekly To-Do List#
| Day | Task |
|---|---|
| Monday | Check the Event Center, collect the double event preview, update the weekly challenges |
| Wednesday | Finish this week’s two limited-time challenges and clear the challenge attempts |
| Friday | Check whether the weekend double event has started and clear stamina in advance |
| Saturday | Mainly farm the double event and complete all weekly missions |
| Sunday | Catch up on limited-time challenges and push for the last ranked points |
Monthly Rhythm Advice#
- First weekend of each month: run double coins and save enough for the pass coin budget
- Second weekend of each month: run double proficiency and max out your main characters
- New character launch week: go all-in on the character story missions, do not put them off
- Last week of the quarter: sprint for ranked tier to earn a better season settlement reward
Event Resource Efficiency Comparison#
Resource drop rates differ a lot between events. The table below is sorted by “reward per unit of time” to help you spend your limited hours where they matter most:
| Event Type | Coins per Hour | Proficiency per Hour | Efficiency Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ranked matches (double weekend) | About 2,000 | High | Highest efficiency, and you climb at the same time |
| High-difficulty limited-time challenge | About 1,500 | Medium | High material drop rate |
| Casual win streaks | About 1,000 | Medium-high | Steady and stress-free |
| Repeated story mode farming | About 600 | Low | Useful as an early stepping stone |
| Local versus | About 400 | Low | Pure fun, not recommended for farming |
Resource Loop Relationships#
Resources in the game form a closed loop, and planning the loop well maximises your returns:
- Coins → Pass: use the coins you saved during double coin weekends to buy the Premium pass, which pays back limited cosmetics and materials
- Materials → Cosmetics: outfit shards and universal outfit vouchers craft limited skins; if you are short on materials, watch for double material weekends
- Proficiency → Exclusive cosmetics: every proficiency level unlocks one exclusive cosmetic, so maxing a character gets you the full set
- Season points → Season Shop: the higher your ranked tier, the more points per match, and the Season Shop’s out-of-print goods all come from this
Free-to-Player Planning Template#
If you do not intend to spend money on events, following the route below still yields plenty:
- Fixed monthly budget: the 3,000 coins from the free pass are enough to cover one double weekend’s shopping each month
- Voucher strategy: spend universal outfit vouchers only on holiday-limited skins all year, never waste them on ordinary cosmetics
- Perfect challenge attendance: always play the two weekly limited-time challenges; the season-cumulative challenge rewards pay far better than single farming runs
- Wait for reruns: do not panic about what you missed — the Spring Festival Return the following year is the only chance for free players to fill in their cosmetics
Season Shop Exchange Guide#
The Season Shop is the main outlet for season points. Stock rotates each season, so learning to prioritise saves you a lot of wasted effort.
Current Season Shop Stock#
| Item | Season Points Required | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Season-limited skin (full set) | 3,000 | Highest, out of print once the season ends |
| Exclusive emote | 800 | High |
| Season badge upgrade material | 500 | Medium |
| Universal outfit voucher x2 | 400 | Medium |
| Coin pack | 200 | Low; you can also accumulate coins by playing matches |
Exchange Advice#
- If you only have enough points for one thing, take the limited skin first — the ultimate goal for cosmetics collectors, and it never comes back
- Emotes and badge materials can keep accumulating into next season; points are not wiped
- The coin pack is the worst value; its exchange rate is far below what you earn from playing, unless you urgently need coins for the pass
- Check your points before the last day of the season; hoarding them is the same as wasting that season’s exchange window
Season Point Sources at a Glance#
| Source | Points per Cycle | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Ranked matches | 40-80 per match | Higher tiers earn more |
| Weekly missions | 800 | A must-do every week |
| Season milestones | Rewards by cumulative matches | Hitting 50/100 matches grants a large number of points |
| Spectator missions | 200 | 3 times a week |

Closing Thoughts#
The event design of Avatar Legends does well at “not forcing you to pay and not forcing you to grind” — free players can still collect most limited cosmetics through weekly challenges and holiday events, while paying players use the pass and Premium track to save time. My personal advice is: learn the weekly to-do list by heart, prioritise the pass during double weekends, prioritise limited skins during holiday events, and play whatever you like with the rest of your time. That way you enjoy the fighting without the regret of missing out. Once the next season’s new character is announced, I will update this event guide immediately.
