Naval combat is the heart of Black Flag, and the area receiving the most attention in Resynced. Ubisoft Singapore (formerly of Skull and Bones fame) led the comprehensive naval combat overhaul.

- 实时波浪模拟：海面不再是预设动画，而是基于 WaveWorks 技术的实时流体模拟。船只会随波浪真实起伏，炮管瞄准因船体摆动而产生动态偏移

- Ship damage system: Ship health replaced with a zone-based durability system. Bow, stern, port, starboard, and masts each have independent durability. Mast loss affects speed and turning; rudder damage reduces maneuverability
- Ammunition physics rework: Round shot, chain shot, and grape shot trajectories, velocity, and collision detection fully rewritten. Round shot penetrates multiple hull layers; chain shot targets masts more precisely; grape shot has more realistic crew damage
- Boarding rework: Boarding is no longer a fixed scenario — multiple boarding layouts generated based on enemy ship damage. New “Quick Board” option triggers a finishing animation if the enemy ship is critically damaged
- Legendary ships enhanced: All 4 legendary ships (Royal Phoenix, Guardian of the Mist, etc.) receive independent AI behavior trees and phased battle patterns
- Weather system: Dynamic weather events including hurricanes, heavy rain, and fog — all with real gameplay impact
- Naval music dynamic mixing: Combat music layers mixed in real-time based on battle intensity
